Barn in Ecclerigg, Nr. Ambleside, Lake District, Cumbria, England - Ideal for access to the Lake District

A private drive leads to The Old Barn with two private parking spaces right outside plus an addittional visitors space. A large entrance hall has access to a cloakroom/3rd wc/wash basin. The bright and airy kitchen/diner has everything you may need complete with a patio door to the furnished patio, ideal for alfresco living. The spacious living room has deep cushioned furnishings and is flooded with natural light, perfect for relaxing or planning your day with WIFI access; also with patio door access to the patio garden. Upstairs to the bedrooms and bathrooms, full of space and light and with beautiful views; the master kingsize with substanial en-suite shower room; the other two bedrooms are double bedrooms and the house bathroom has a bth with shower attachemnt. Outside there is a delightful patio and use of the landscaped gardens.

“Tired”

This cottage is perfectly located and is enormous but extremely tired and in need of some love. There are stains on the ceilings in quite a few rooms - either leaks or gutter problems. The shower is awful and is 100 degrees whether on 1 or 7. The beds are low and really uncomfortable as though £80 has been doesn’t on each mattress. The sofas are aged and worn and sitting on them is like sitting on the floor. It’s a shame as so much could be made of this place but it’s as though it has just been forgotten

“STOLE OUR DEPOSIT”

Response from the owner Hello Katy Firstly we did not steal your deposit- it was reported to me that at least 10 people were using the facilities of the property which were booked for 6 persons. They were there for at least 2 days. It is not acceptable in any letting/ hotel situation for more people than booked to use the property. You did not have the courtesy to ask or advise us this was to be the case , we would have agreed to it . After the offer of a partial refund it was in fact you that did not respond back and the offer to you still stands. Please make sure in future that you are honest and upfront with future landlords as issues like this can be prevented.
