Description

Our gite has all you need for an amazing luxury holiday in rural France.

Vacheroy has a fully equipped kitchen dining area, a large beamed, double height lounge diner, a family bathroom with toilet, sink, bath & separate shower unit. There is also an ensuite bathroom downstairs in the twin room. Outside is a large private, partly shaded patio area to relax on, eat out, have a bbq or take a break from the sun. You can enjoy our large garden for playing games, a shaded gazebo to chill out under with peaceful country views & also overlooking the swimming pool & terrace with ample sun beds & umbrellas. There is a small fenced garden with a swingset ideal for young children, as well as the rest of the 2 acre garden that you are free to use at your leisure.

Vacheroy is here for you to enjoy & whether inside or out it is fully equipped so you can relax & enjoy your holiday. This includes the free Wi-Fi throughout the cottage and extending outside to all the dining & relaxing areas, including poolside. We positively encourage you to post lots of pictures of you enjoying the Gite & pool!

Kitchen - The kitchen/diner is spacious and modern & has everything you'll need whether you love to cook a little...or a lot. It is equipped with a new family sized fridge freezer, gas cooker, microwave, four slot toaster, electric kettle, coffee maker, dishwasher, washing machine & table & chairs for six. In the cupboards you'll find all the cutlery, crockery, glasses & kitchen implements you'll need to cook up whatever feast you fancy.

Lounge - The double height lounge & dining room is the centre piece of the inside of our Gite. It has created many a "wow" from previous guests. When you see it I'm sure you will love the light airy feel & the beauty of the old Elm beams. The lounge has a large leather corner sofa plus a further 2 seater sofa and an armchair. This room also has a dining table suitable for 8, perfect for dining in, or playing games. If you wish to stay indoors, we have a large flat screen TV with English Sky Freeview channels & a DVD player. Either bring your own films, or borrow one of ours. The lounge also has a new log burner but I very much doubt you will need any extra heat in the Summer!

Bedrooms - The Gite can sleep up to eight comfortably (Maximum 6 adults due to the configuration)

Above the lounge on a mezzanine, there is a romantic double bed & dressing area. Next door are two large attic rooms, one with two single beds and the other a playroom. Due to the low ceiling height this is suitable for up to two younger children. We call this area "The Den" and the children love the fact it's just for them! Bean bags, dvds and books make it a huge hit with the kids.

Downstairs there is a large modern King size room & a recently added (2017) en-suite bathroom featuring a shower, sink and toilet. Also on the ground floor is a small twin room with luxury beds & the family bathroom.

Outside & gardens - The Gite is approached through double gates to a large front garden containing a plum tree & flowering hibiscus. The views to the front look out over the fields of sunflowers, wheat or maize towards the church at Sousmoulins that is beautifully lit up at night.

At the rear is your private terrace area with outside dining table for eight, shaded cushioned benches for when you like to cool off or read a book, a wood/charcoal BBQ for outdoor dining. A great place to watch the sun go down.

From here you have views out over fields to the woods. Additionally, there are two hammocks, a children's swing set and a toddlers slide. If you are travelling with little ones or a pet, we have added a small picket fence to give you peace of mind that they can't wander out unaccompanied to the swimming pool. The brand new 10x5 metre heated swimming pool & large sunny patio are the highlight of the garden. Although the pool is shared between the Gite & house, we generally try to let you and yours enjoy the tranquility. It's situated in order to be in full sun from dawn to dusk & has an in-pool seating area so you can soak up the rays, whilst sitting & drinking your sundowners in the cooling water.... The pool is open between 10am & 8pm but those times can be varied by mutual consent. If you need to swim a couple of miles before breakfast who are we to stop you!?

If lounging by the pool is not quite enough & you're a little more energetic the garden is also equipped with an all weather table tennis table, pool table, the traditional French game of boule, a badminton net & racquets & a croquet set. If you like to get out and about to explore the local area, we have two mountain bikes you are welcome to borrow at your own risk. We can also arrange local bike hire for the whole family at very reasonable rates with bikes delivered to our door.

Getting around

Getting around is easy here on quiet rural French roads. Whether it be by car or bicycle you will find good quality roads, very light of traffic. If you enjoy walking or off road cycling there are hundreds of "chemin blanc" (white roads), chalk based farm tracks and the many "voie verte" (green ways), usually old railway lines, now tarmacked for easy cycling & walking.

Interaction with guest

We live on site so we will be there to meet & greet you, handover the keys to your beautiful Gite & explain everything you need to know. There is plenty of literature to tell you about the surroundings but if you need more information feel free to ask. We have made friends with past guests but realise that this is YOUR holiday so we can also keep out of your way if you prefer
