Description

Little Gwendreath Holiday Cottages is a collection of four, two-bedroom cottages based on Cornwall's beautiful Lizard Peninsula. Each cottage has a main bedroom with a double bed and a second bedroom with either twin single beds or these can be joined together to make a super king. Please let us know which set up you would prefer. The living room in each cottage is equipped with a day bed that can convert to a king size sofa bed. Pets are welcome at an extra £30 each per booking. If you will be bringing an electric vehicle please let us know the make, model and battery capacity as charges may apply. We operate a three night minimum stay, excluding summer school holidays when we only offer Saturday to Saturday stays.

Our location is remote enough to be peaceful, but close enough to Cornwall's larger attractions to be a great base for trips out. Largely unspoilt, people come to the Lizard to see its dramatic scenery, sandy beaches and rugged natural landscapes. The Guardian recently described it as 'almost impossibly pretty'.

To the east of our site is a small stream and path that leads down to the beach at Kennack Sands which is divided into two beaches by Carn Kennack (a small hill). There are two cafe's next to the beach and you can also learn to surf at Kennack Sands Surf School. The east beach is dog friendly all year round.

The area surrounding Little Gwendreath is a national nature reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, complete with rare wildlife species and spectacular scenery. On clear nights the Milky Way can be seen. There are many rewarding walks near us, not least the South West Coast Path which passes by Kennack Sands.

Our cottages are quiet, cosy and offer authentic Cornish holidays with nature at the heart. We are very conscious that everything we do has an impact and we want to tread as lightly as we can. We are passionate about reducing our footprint and inspiring our guests to minimise the impact of their stay. We try to show that 'going green' does not mean compromise and guests can rest assured that just by staying at Little Gwendreath, they are helping to protect the environment they are here to enjoy.

Our location is remote with very limited public transport nearby so it is best to come by car so that you can fully explore the area.

We will be around to welcome you unless we have contacted you to advise otherwise. We live onsite in the main house, we want you to enjoy the cottage as your own for your stay so after we have shown you around we will leave you to enjoy your stay, unless of course you wish to pick our brains about the area and then we are happy to help out in any way we can, we will take your lead on this. “Perfect getaway”

This was our first trip with our dog and we were looking for a dog friendly cottage. We couldn't have stayed at a better place. The cottage is small, but a perfect size for what we needed and contains all the essentials and more. Beautifully kept and spotlessly clean, plus a fenced garden which was brilliant for our dog. To top it off, some delicious home made cookies were left for us. Only a 10 minute walk down to the beach (which is particularly lovely as the sun rises). A perfect base to explore the lizard. Absolutely recommend.

“Good Cottage for Summer Holiday”

Comfortable cottage with good quality appliances Rooms not spacious but adequate. Owners work hard to provide what hirers want or need in the future, down to newly installed vehicle charging points. Being in our 70’s we feel the cold a lot more these days and found it difficult to get the cottage warm enough to sit around in the evening, but we survived. During the summer it would be fine and very comfortable in hot weather. The dishwasher was a definite bonus. The owners are very friendly and keen to make sure you have a good time. Green woodpecker outside the window on the grass first morning we were there.

“Great base for exploring The Lizard.”

As you can see in the photos me, my family and our dog instantly felt at home here. We found it a great base for exploring the many interesting walks and beaches within The Lizard. The hosts were great and made it clear they were available if we needed anything. Would definitely recommend booking here.

“Perfect holiday cottage in excellent location”

A well kept, pretty and highly functional cottage in an ideal location. A 10 minute walk through a pretty woodland along a stream takes you from the cottage to Kennack Sands beach and the South West coast track. Very quiet and idyllic location (despite the holiday park behind, from which we heard nothing during our stay). A definite recommend!

“Our wonderful week”

Our cottage was beautiful and clean and we lacked nothing... Sainsbury’s is fairly local so there’s no need to drag tons of shopping with you ... Sarah and Steve are close by if you need anything and too be honest we’ve already booked for next year ... fantastic value for money ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
