Stepping off the front steps of our premium lodging experience in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains. Hiawassee is a very closely held secret mountain/Lake playground surrounded by National Forest. You're just a short drive to Downtown Helen, Brasstown Bald with it's towering views of Georgia complete with it's own weather which emulates Massachusetts because of it's elevation, Lake Chatuge, the Appalachian Trail, Cleveland's Cabbage Patch Hospital, Dukes Creek Fly fishing, tubing, exploring the national forest trail system, kayaking at the Nantahala Gorge, enjoying North Georgia Wineries, Five premier golf courses in the immediate area including Brasstown Valley Resort, Mountain Harbour and Cherokee Hills. Just a few minutes to the renowned John C. Campbell Folk School, The Georgia Mountain Fair and is only 2 hrs. north of Atlanta...Just a Step away!

A Step Away Mountain Laurel Cabin offers privacy with relaxation for those that desire it, complete with mountain views while set in a thicket of Mountain Laurel complete with occasional deer interruptions following their trails though the thicket.

You are initially greeted with a hand carved front entrance as you enter your retreat.

Large secluded screened porch with rockers, dining table and mountain sunset views. If you enjoy reading or just want to get away to mountain serenity & your special music, our quiet screened porch---comfortable rockers included---should be one of the most enjoyable features of our Cabin. Flat screen TV for enjoying Netflix, Hulu and a wide variety of other shows. The sitting room has a library of movies, books and board games. There is a Gas grill, complete with utensils and, of course, gas too. Makes grilling in the mountains just like home. While grilling, relax in the rocker with a beautiful mountain view and soak in the fresh air and pine laden-ed breezes.

The two Master suites each have a private open air deck accessible by sliding glass doors with bench seating to enjoy sunset views, star gazing and separate access to screen porch for dining and board games. Additionally, one of the Masters has private access to the bathroom and a large private sitting room. The Two Master suites are separated by a great room with 13 foot cedar lap siding wall (filling the air with a fresh cedar aroma) crowned with windows that let in the morning sun, a dining area, 1/2 bath with a dishwasher plus stacked washer and dryer, and a fully appointed Kitchen.

Bird feeders and area wildlife add to the experience.

It's just A Step Away to abandon the hectic city life in exchange for peaceful, quiet and serene mountain views to recharge your batteries.
