Description
A Barunissa is located in Castiglione di Sicilia, the volcano Etna, situated in the grounds of the park. His name is always used by the locals to identify this piece of paradise, which covers 100 hectares within a forest, just 20 km from beautiful Taormina. A Barunissa offers guests a relaxing comfortable environment, a large wood and lots of Nature. A true oasis of peace and serenity where you find yourself, your being, and the contact with nature. Travelers who stop off on their way here is in fact welcomed by brooms, fruit trees and a lush forest: the hotel is set within a forest of pine and chestnut trees, which make it the ideal place to relax, finding some time and energy, and experience the deep sense of Nature. When, at the end of the nineteenth century the fund was purchased by the owner's great grandfather, there existed nothing, or almost, of what it is today; his death, his wife was to develop its projects, and starting a program chestnut, with the planting of more than twenty thousand plants, or the realization of one of the largest cisterns to collect rainwater Etna, about 6 thousand hectoliters, to get the irreplaceable commitment and participation in the construction of the road connecting the bottom Passopisciaro. In the spacious terraces that now house the dense pine forest, until about fifty years ago there was a thriving vineyard cultivated mainly in Nerello mascalese: the harvest lasted not less than twenty days, the grapes were collected and processed on site and the must was welcomed in the impressive wine cellar, a real "wine cathedral" in which huge barrels still smell the "nectar of the gods" ... the meeting between past and present is made in compliance with the vocation of the place and the natural surroundings; and a meticulous restoration aimed at preserving the existing architectural features, with particular attention to the conservation of the environment and the tools of the past, did this reception dedicated structure. The main house and the houses, stables and warehouses for tools, transformed into comfortable guest rooms, the press room and the "Conzo", and the cellar with ancient barrels perfectly preserved chestnut, offer accommodation that beckons unequivocally the atmosphere and the ancient local traditions. The old winery and other spaces once used for winemaking are home to the reception and the common room, which blend with the environment, embracing guests in a warm and immersed in lush nature, away from city noises. It is here that are served vegeteriane tasty breakfasts, pastries and breads, also homemade with seasonal produce and 0 km, like honey, produced by bees just within the background, often used for popular apple pies and donuts Gisa mother. The rooms available to guests are characterized by a simple elegance and intimate and comfortable atmosphere and are equipped with private bathroom with shower, complimentary toiletries and towels, hair dryer, TV, refrigerator and a safe. The 100 hectares of A Barunissa are right in the heart of the Etna Park, overlooking the Peloritani and Nebrodi, offering a picturesque landscape: the green mountains, the majestic Mount Etna and the Alcantara River Park, which, articulated in small waterfalls, with its crystal clear water rich in trout runs through the valley before plunging into the Ionian Sea. Also just a few kilometers away, in addition to the striking Castiglione di Sicilia, which belongs to the "most beautiful villages in Italy", even the lovely medieval town of Randazzo. And again, the ski resorts of Provenzana Plan, the sea of Taormina, the marina of Ripon, and more ... A Barunissa is ideal for those who want to get away from the hustle and stress of city life, and for those who want to relax and recharge of clean energy that only the mountain air can give. In the large forest that extends around the structure in fact guests have the chance to walk long trails with various levels of difficulty, that run within hectares of pristine territories walking on foot, trekking, and mountain biking.
