Are you looking for a true home from home base for your Welsh adventure?

Hafan Bach is a spacious terrace cottage in the historic township of Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire. Many guests first comment is that the cottage is much larger than expected.

We spent 18 months lovingly renovating Hafan Bach working hard to retain the character and to keep as many original features as possible.

Hafan Bach sleeps 5 and welcomes up to 4 dogs free of charge, please message us if you would like to bring more.

Bedroom 1 is a king-size bedroom with a large wardrobe, chest of drawers, chair, TV, bedside tables, and lamps.

Bedroom 2 has a double bed, TV, chest of drawers, hanging rail, rocking chair, bedside tables, and lamps.

Bedroom 3 has a single bed, chest of drawers, chair, bedside table, and lamp.

There is also a shower room upstairs.

The living room is cosy and relaxing with 2 leather sofas, a nest of tables, a welsh dresser with a selection of games, electric wood burner effect fire, smart TV, a DVD player, and a selection of DVDs.

There is a large open-plan kitchen diner with a double range cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, etc. We hope we have thought of everything you may need in terms of utensils etc but please feel free to message us and check. The dining table gives a perfect view of the garden, with french doors opening out from the kitchen diner into the beautiful, fully enclosed garden with an outdoor dining area and undercover gas BBQ.

There is also a large family bathroom downstairs which has a full-size bath with a shower over.

Hafan Bach is a comfortable and relaxing base for your Welsh adventure, with fantastic walking and cycling along the millennium coastal path.

Kidwelly has a selection of shops, cafes, pubs, and takeaways within easy walking distance of the cottage.

Parc Y Bocs is a farm shop that is a must-visit, the home of Burns dog food, serving lovely lunches and of course dog friendly. They have just launched a wonderful adventure dog park which can be hired for private use to allow off-lead exercise sessions.

Pembrey country park with its 8-mile stunning sandy beach, hundreds of acres of forest, Ski slope, bike hire, horse riding, and cafe is a short drive away as are Ffos las racecourse, Pembrey Motor Circuit, and Glyn Abbey Golf course. The historic Market town of Carmarthen is just a 20mins drive.

We are spoiled for choice for day trips, some of the most popular with our guests are Mumbles, Tenby, Gower, Brecon Beacons, Botanic gardens of Wales, Llanelli wetland centre, and Gwili steam railway.

Getting around

Many people have enjoyed the scenic coastal train from Kidwelly to Tenby even when they have their car with them. Good public transport and local bike hire, lots of great cycle paths

House rules

Smoking or vaping is strictly forbidden in the cottage however there is a covered area outside where smoking is permitted.
Dogs are very welcome and we have worked hard to make to cottage dog friendly. We provide throws and ask they are used if dogs are on furniture. We have a stair gate and ask that dogs are kept downstairs if wet or dirty.
By booking guests agree to clean up after their dogs, leave the cottage in a clean and tidy condition and pay for any damage or excessive cleaning.
