SALTY DOG is an oceanfront home with private access to the beach with no close neighbors. HOT TUB. Garage, All wood floors, Vaulted ceilings, open design living. Located about 30 miles north of the OREGON/CALIFORNIA border about 1 mile WEST of Highway 101 in a small community of about 25 homes and a dead end road so no traffic but your neighbors. The home is a 3 story with the master bedroom and bath on the third floor, the main floor (second) has 1 bedroom, 1 bath, laundry room, living room with fireplace, dining room and full kitchen with an all glass west view wall.
Great views of the coastline, ocean and dunes. GOLD BEACH is just to the south of the world famous ROGUE RIVER with shopping, restaurants and recreation. Easy access to Golf courses 6 miles north of SALTY DOG, 30 miles south in BROOKING'S, and 50 miles north in BANDON there are 4 courses at the world famous BANDON DUNES RESORT.

Great ocean views! Property management was very attentive. The hot tub was nice to have but difficult to access(no stairs). I would still go back though--it's a beautiful location!

Response from the manager I am happy to hear you had a great visit at Salty Dog. Once we get the new permit for the 5 step wood stairs (beaches are state parks in Oregon) it will be easier to get to the beach than the driftwood ones. Last winters storms lowered the beach level by 20 feet so the beach is slowly rebuilding. The natural yard plants that grow withing 100 feet of the ocean do need a lot of taming but we will win again soon. I do hope you can visit us again soon on the Oregon Coast David Hoenie

Response from the manager There was a note to be careful on the beach access as we had big storms that lowered the beach level by over ten feet. There was access but just to be careful. The guest families both with kids before and after her visit had no problems getting to the beach. If she had complained within an hour or so to me about the home she would have been moved to another home right away. Her first communication was an email that she found the home without any problem and except the was some sand in a kitchen sink she said from someone rinsing out a mop all was OK and she would be checking out by the 11AM time on her last day.. No other communication was received from her until late the last day after 6 PM. The "junk" she reported were the gutters, downspouts and sat dish just removed so we could paint that week. The only part of the railing that "was falling off" was a gate at the top of the stairs that was leaning against the end railing in case she needed to keep the dog on the deck. The railings are being repainted between guests when the winds allow. This guest made no complaint until late on her last day and only by emails and threatened to file complaints flip key, trip adviser, send out derogatory comments on all social media etc. She was given her $100 cleaning charge back and an additional $50 by mail. The BBQ was dirty but had been cleaned after the last guest 2 days before so we might have had a visitor off the beach as this home has no close neighbors but I should have checked that again before her visit and that was my fault. She even complained that the fireplace was dirty because a fire was laid with paper, kindling and a fire starter under the logs so all she needed to do was lite it with a match. It was very unfortunate that she and her dog did not enjoy her visit. We work hard to resolve any complaint from a guest made in a timely manner including sending a house keeper back right away if they feel there is a problem or moving them to another home at no charge. I do hope she has a better trip the next time with another company.
