Welcome to newly built lodge & retreat center Living Forest, where you wake up to the sound of a river and jungle with tropical birds and monkeys often in sight. The location is secluded, yet you can easily drive to amazing sights by Lake Arenal.

Living Forest is ideal for a romantic get-away, gathering of family and friends. It is for nature lovers and sports enthusiasts (cycling, wind surfing and other water sports). Or just come and relax amid the magical nature!

The Living Forest lodge has three comfortable rooms, each sleep max four people. You can choose which room best serve you. Rates vary depending on how many are sharing a room.

THIS LISTING is for a DOUBLE ROOM with shared bathrooms, 55$. Other options are: triple 75$/room, quad 85$/room and dormitory style 35$ per person. Let us know if you are more than two people.

The rooms are called Mariposa (butterfly), Rana (frog) and Mono (monkey). Mariposa has a queen bed and a comfortable bunk bed. The other rooms have two single beds and a bunk bed. Across the hall we have two large bathrooms each with two nice showers with hot water and two toilets. You will be sharing, but still with comfort and style :).

We have a new communal kitchen for our guests in the "Casa de la Luna Nueva"- building with a fridge, stove and microwave and a hang out space.

In the main lodge you are welcome to use the deck area, where weekly yoga classes are held. If you like to do your own yoga, meditation or other practice, feel free!

Getting around

If you have a car it is easy to explore the area and get to many types of activities. Without a car you would mainly relax here. There are some local buses, but the schedule is limited. We are happy to give you our car rental connection with extra discount for our guests. Let us know if you are interested.

We are happy to help you with suggestions for adventures and activities. There are lots of things to do! Or perhaps you prefer chilling out and reading a book in the hammock listening to the river bubbling in the background and taking in the nature's beauty and rejuvenating energy. We are here to answer questions and offer any help we can. We also respect your privacy and leave you at peace when you so choose. Please note we have two dogs and a cat living on the property. They are a friendly bunch!

How do damage deposits work?
