Congo Bongo is a family-run hotel featuring seven vacation rental houses in Puerto Viejo - Manzanillo in the southernmost part of the South Caribbean of Costa Rica and is located about 12 kilometers south of Puerto Viejo de Talamanca in the province called Limón. It is located in the Gandoca-Manzanillo wild life refuge and the property itself is about 6 hectares (15 acres). It is nestled in a private nature park and tropical garden with plenty of wildlife.

Getting around

We have a set of fresh new bikes that you can rent for 10 USD per day. Renting a bicycle is an excellent way of reaching nearby beaches and grocery stores. Alternatively, you can be more independent and rent a car to explore other areas all such as Cahuita.

Interaction with guest

You will be welcomed and checked in by one of our friendly staff. For your convenience we have provided a cell phone in each house so that you may make local calls, or call us if you need anything. The reception is open daily from 7am - 5pm we are more than happy to help you book a day trip or tour. Or just give you a little tip of where to go and eat if you don't feel like cooking that day - after all you have come to relax and shake off all that stress. Each of our houses offer ample space according to your needs - from two persons up to a maximum of seven people. All our houses come with a fully equipped kitchen and complimentary laundry service, security cameras, free bottled spring water, a bottle of red wine and free Wi-Fi.

House rules

Do not flush the toilet paper. Please leave your passports, cash, credit cards & valuables in the safe.
When you leave close the doors and take the keys with you. The gate key is on the bedroom wall on a shell. At 6:00 PM we close the gate, so take the key if you are planning to be out at night and lock it when you return.
Do not leave lights or fans on when you are not there.
Mosquito coils and campfires are not allowed to burn in the property.
Keep noise to a minimum after 10:00 PM.
