Description

This comfortable and spacious apartment is located at the Nieuwegracht, the most beautiful canal in the historic heart of Utrecht and within walking distance of all sights. It is the whole top floor of our characteristic, monumental house dating from 1475 and it has a great view over the canal from the living room. You can use the peaceful terrace next to the canal for your breakfast or drinks. You will love this special medieval place, so typical of Utrecht!

The apartment is bright and spacious (80m2/900 sq. ft). It has a beautiful living room with three large windows at the canal side, two bedrooms and a big bathroom. It has original medieval beams, 2 TV's, a desk, a breakfast table, tea and coffee making facilities, a microwave and a refrigerator. Coffee, tea and some breakfast items included. There is no kitchen.

Our historic house is located in a stunning location, right by the canal, in the center of Utrecht, but nevertheless very quiet. The monument has various historical features historic characteristics, such as the impressive 18th century main entrance, the very special painted botanic patio, the medieval wharf cellar with entrance to your terrace on the canal and a big garden at the back side.

Via the main entrance and the stairs you reach the private apartment on the 3rd floor (there is no elevator):

* The large living room with table, TV and extra sofa bed is located on the canal side.

* Modern, large bathroom with bath and separate shower and a separate toilet

* Romantic bedroom on the quiet backside of the house. The bedroom has a staircase to the mezzanine, with a single bed. The 2 bedrooms are on different levels, but have an open connection, without doors.

* You can enjoy the sun in the morning from the quiet terrace on the Nieuwegracht. There are chairs to enjoy the view from the yard terrace overlooking the water. You will love this special place!

* Parking on the street is possible but expensive. On some days you can use a private parking space for € 17,50 a night. Please check availability in advance.

We are quite flexible and want to make sure you get the best out of your visit. Please contact us with any wish you may have. We might be available on days that seem to be blocked. If you are a family, we can also accommodate an extra child (4th person). We do have baby cots as well.

- The apartment has a Nespresso machine, a kettle, a fridge and a microwave. Coffee and tea and some breakfast items

 are included.

- There is no kitchen and we do not serve breakfast, but there is a restaurant with terrace where a great breakfast buffet is served, just 200 meters away. There is also a bakery nearby, at Nieuwegracht 125. And of course there are numerous cafés nearby.

- We have a cat named Sid

in the house (he will not be in the apartment).

- There is an old medieval beam in the middle of the bathroom; The bathroom is less suitable for people taller than 1.95 m.

- Since we are in the middle of the Museum Quarter, you regularly hear the church bells, but they are not very loud, except on Sunday at 10.15 am.

- The bed is made upon arrival and fresh towels are provided.

Our central location at the Nieuwegracht in the historic 'Museum Quarter' is very close to the Dom Tower, the Miffy Museum, the Central Museum, the University Museum with a beautiful old garden and other highlights of Utrecht. It is a few minutes walk from shops, many cafés and good restaurants.

Amsterdam is easy to visit from here. It is 28 minutes by train.

Everything is on walking distance. Of course we can give you suggestions for nice places in the neighborhood. A city walk is also available.
