Description

We are a traditional English Guest House offering home cooked food in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast is included in the price with evening meals optional. Your hosts Gerry and Susan are fully committed to making your stay as memorable as possible which is why so many of our guests return again and again.

All bedrooms now have a compact ensuite. You control the temperature of your room with a ceiling fan to cool you and a convector heater to warm you in the winter.

A television, hairdryer and a generous beverage tray come as standard.

We are a traditional English Guest House offering delicious home cooked food in a relaxed homely atmoshere. Our main priority is to ensure that your stay with us, no matter the duration, is as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.

We are fully committed to making your stay as memorable as possible which is why so many of our guests return again and again.

We do not have central heating but each room has a convector heater so you can decide how warm you want the room and a ceiling fan to cool you in the summer.

We are ideally situated for all the main amenities such as beach; town; harbour and railway station.

Our prices include a hearty English breakfast which our regular guests will tell you is the best in Torquay.

Whether you are here for a family holiday, a quiet break or with friends for a special event, you will find that the Haute Epine is the place to stay.

Getting around

The train station is just down the road if you want to travel into Cornwall or Somerset for a day out or explore more of Devon. The bus service in Torbay is excellent and allows you to travel and explore for a very low cost. We are just around the corner from the bus stops and have full information available for guests to plan their outings. If you are into walking we are on the South West Coast Path, the longest footpath in England, and people come from all over the world to walk this. You do not have to be into walking as such as the parts nearest to us are suitable for a family walk.

Interaction with guest

We live on the premises so are available for any requests guests might have . Although we love to hear about your adventures on your return to the guest house we leave you to your own space and guests come and go as they please. We do not have any curfews, just request that all guests come in quiet so as not to disturb anyone else.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
