Modern convenience with an air of tranquility. . This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

The Breton cottage is constructed of stone and has been recently renovated. The marriage of old and new works well to give both modern convenience and an air of tranquility. The cottage is nestled in the heart of Brittany’s beautiful countryside and yet perfectly positioned between two small villages, Plevin and Motreff, which have restaurants, bars, churches and grocery shops selling freshly baked baguettes and croissants. The larger towns of Carhaix and Gourin are approximately 9 mins, they are both market towns with large supermarkets and extensive shops. Carhaix has many activities to enjoy, including an indoor/outdoor swimming pool with saunas, jacuzzi and large outside park area, golf, driving range, acrobranche and horse riding.

The area is ideal for water sports, with the safe sandy beached swimming Lake du Corong only a short distance. There is an extensive area surrounding the lake which is perfect for sunbathing, an energetic hike, canoeing, sailing, refreshments, snacks and play area. The Nantes to Brest canal runs close to the lake and winds through our surrounding countryside, ideal for walking, fishing and cycling.

Our central location enables you to visit all 3 coastlines, famous chateaux and many picturesque villages in a short distance. Roscoff and St. Malo are our closest ferry ports and Brest the nearest main airport.

Brittany for me is my childhood years in Cornwall. A glimpse of the peaceful life I had, steeped in tradition, surrounded by far reaching views of just trees. Having moved to Brittany in 2002 we set about the massive undertaking of turning agricultural land with ruins into a home and gite with extensive gardens set in a hectare. 14 years later everything is coming up roses and it is time to give back and share this secret and amazing country.
