Character cottage, dating from the early 1800's with a wealth of original features such as mullion windows, beamed ceilings and views of the Colne Valley and beyond. This grade II listed cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway and/or for walking and cycling (as long as you like hills!).

The property looks across the valley beyond, providing striking views from the bedroom. The quiet residential surrounding only adds to the charming nature of this property to provide the ideal setting for a getaway.

Internally, you will immediately be impressed by the character of the property, decorated throughout in a modern style, whilst retaining original features, to create a fusion of styles that complements and enhances the property. This is an ideal space to sit back and relax or enjoy when on business.

The village of Golcar is situated on a small hillside crest just 2.5 miles from the centre of Huddersfield; a small village but rich in history (being noted in the Domesday Book) and playing an important role in the industrial revolution as a centre for weaving. There are regular buses to Huddersfield Town Center. Huddersfield has a railway station as does the nearby village of Slaithwaite (Slawit to the locals)

I live nearby to the cottage with my partner Helen in the same village so we ar usually on hand if you need us but we don't intrude. There is self check-in via a key-safe. We will let you have the code before your arrival.You will have my mobile phone number so that I will be easily contactable. We want to make sure your stay great. We love the cottage and think you will too.

“A beautiful peaceful cottage”

We had a lovely stay in the cottage, a beautiful peaceful setting and close to Huddersfield where we were visiting. Very comfy and cosy bed. Nothing was too much trouble for Robert the owner.

“Great cottage”

We had a great stay, owner was really kind and went out of his way to help us and make us as comfortable as possible. We really enjoyed the relaxing garden and the cottage was clean and fully equipped with all we needed. Hope to come back some time.
