Our peaceful farmhouse Gite is located between the pretty towns of Sourdeval and Vire, close to the beautiful Lake Dathee and St Sever Forest and the Voie Vert. It sits on a hill with stunning panoramic views in 3 acres of beautiful grounds and an old cider orchard,with a 15' above ground splash pool - seasonal (Vire Aqua Park is just 10 minutes away), climbing frame, trampoline,football net and activity field. There's also a well equipped INDOOR PLAY ROOM, BBQ and lots of outdoor tables and chairs. The location is hard to beat - under an hour from great sandy seaside beaches and major attractions such as MONT ST MICHEL, the D-DAY LANDING BEACHES, BAYEUX, Swiss Normandy and several quality Zoos and Family Fun Parks. We're an easy drive from all the ferry ports and just over a 4 hour drive from the Tunnel at Calais and 1 hour from Caen. On our doorstep is the stunning LAKE DATHEE with a 7m cycle track around it and 18 hole golf course. Here you can fish, windsurf,kayak, enjoy a swim from the lovely sandy beach or play a round of golf. There are great cycle and walking trails around us including within the lovely ST SEVER FOREST, plus a quality hard tennis court in our local village. A car is essential as we are in a rural location and we have a garage where you can store your bikes, fishing equipment etc..AND YOU DON'T NEED TO HAVE CHILDREN TO ENJOY ALL THAT'S ON OFFER! Whether you are looking for a peaceful, rural and private retreat to recharge your batteries, or wish to have a more active stay, we have it all. If you enjoy painting or photography then our stunning views with soaring buzzards won't disappoint, and you'll be spoilt for choice with the selection of award winning restaurants nearby.if you really want to sample the local delicacies then visit one of the daily markets where you'll find amongst other things local cheese, dairy, fruit and sausages and, of course, the famous Calvados brandy! If you are a golfer why not spend a day on the beautiful 18 hole course at Lake Dathee and enjoy a drink and a bite to eat afterwards in the friendly English speaking clubhouse overlooking the lake. Please note that we don't generally accept more than 6 adults at a time due to the layout of the house. Owners are on site in an adjacent property to give you all the help and advice you need during your holiday.
