In the beautiful hills of Chianti lies the Arceno Estate a vast private vineyard and Nature Reserve, where the apartment, ‘Arco al Poggio’ is found, set over three floors within a renovated traditional Tuscan ‘casale’ or farmhouse.

‘Arco al Poggio’ is part of ‘Arceno Rentals Club’ which provides our guests with an inclusive quality service before and throughout their stay. From the initial booking process to the end of their vacation ‘Arceno Rentals Club’ are there for their guests. Inclusively we begin with a ‘Welcome basket’ of quality local foods and wines for the first weekend. We also supply house wine and bar of branded spirits and Italian liqueurs for the duration of their stay. Other inclusive services are linen change and stocking consumables like coffee capsules, dishwasher tablets, charcoal etc.

To make our guests vacation ‘heavenly’ we also inclusively provide a Five Star Concierge Service to assist with anything from restaurant reservations, excursions to wineries, tour guides and directions, car rental with chauffeur, if required, child minding and more. We also assist should a problem arise, allowing our guests to relax and enjoy their vacation, safe in the knowledge they will be well looked after.

The apartment is exclusive and private having two comfortable double bedrooms with ceiling fans and two bathrooms. Traditionally Tuscan with modern conveniences, internet, WiFi, T.V, DVD player and iPod dock. It also has a covered patio with beautiful views southward over the Chianti countryside. Beautifully furnished to high standards the apartment accommodates four persons comfortably for a unique, stylish experience, a real 'home from home'.

The entrance is at ground level through a gateway from a secluded private garden. Left of the gate is an old oven and opposite, the stairs lead to a private covered patio, 'the loggia'. From the loggia the apartment is accessed directly into a spacious living area with fireplace and dining for six people. The kitchen itself is well appointed for keen or professional cooks.

At one end the ‘guest’ bedroom and bathroom with shower, opposite, a stairway leads to the spacious and romantic master bedroom with beautiful views over the vineyards and the village of San Gusmè. A bathroom with a large bathtub and shower serves the master bedroom. Guests also have the use of a tranquil private swimming pool.

The estate of Arceno covers 1000 hectares of forest, vineyards, olive groves, cypress avenues, dotted with traditional farmhouses ‘the Casali’, many of which have been restored. The Villa of the estate dates from the 16th century with its own chapel, romantic park and lake.

‘Arco al Poggio’ was a working ‘Casale’, but now restored with modern conveniences, it welcomes guests who may relax and enjoy the stunning views of the Chianti countryside.

From ‘Arco al Poggio’ are views towards the famous Crete, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Monte Amiata. At the rear, the medieval village of San Gusmè a short fifteen minute walk through the vines. The rewards a drink at a village café and the view towards Siena and its towers.

The estate is served by ‘strade bianche’, (white roads) which are unpaved. Although some are public, these roads are quiet, allowing walking, cycling and jogging at ease. The region is filled with history, art, food and wine. Siena with its famous ‘Palio’ an exciting medieval horse race is only fifteen minutes away. Italy’s excellent road network allows easy day trips to Florence, San Giminiano, Le Crete, Pienza, Montalcino, Cortona, Arezzo and more!

Famous for food and wine there are many places to enjoy the bounty of Chianti and Tuscany. Eat and drink or take lessons and cook like a true Tuscan! The more active may golf, horse ride or take a swim and relax at one of the nearby thermal spas. Perhaps take a trip to the seaside?

Getting around

With its excellent network of roads Italy is easily navigable by car especially so in the region of Tuscany. From the Arceno estate to Siena and Florence are easy drives of fifteen and Sixty minutes well in reach for day trips. There are also trains and busses should one not wish to drive.

Interaction with guest

Arceno Rentals Club will be with our guests from the moment they book until the day of departure, from meeting our guests at the property and providing a Five Star Concierge service throughout. So our guests can be completely at ease and enjoy their 'experience' to the full yet have access to, if wanted or needed for assistance with tickets, events, wine tours, private tours of galleries and museums, reservations to the best restaurants, child minding the list is almost endless!
