Description

The village of Blanc overlooks the unspoilt valley of the Sanctus in southern France, where wild boar, deer and hawks roam freely through the natural chestnut woodland. Pure mountain air and streams provide a protected environment for rare plants, and with no ground light you're guaranteed fantastic night skies.

Surrounded by protected parkland, Blanc consists of the remains of a 10th century chateau, a church, and several traditional stone houses, with an orchard and terraces overlooking the valley.

Newly restored, La Terrasse is a light and airy house which takes its name from the south facing terrace with glorious views out over the Sanctus valley.

The interior furnishing marries contemporary and traditional, with as centrepiece an original handturned wooden spiral staircase.

The two bedrooms offer a choice of kingsize double or three single beds, either side of a bathroom with separate shower and tub. There's also a separate toilet downstairs.

The large private pool, shared between all the gites, is just a stone's throw away.

A handsome wood burning stove, together with electric radators, keeps the house warm during the cooler months.

Besides its abundant natural riches, Blanc is well placed for exploring the region's cultural heritage, from the gastronomic delights of Languedoc wines and Roquefort cheese to the historic Templar and Hospitaller citadels of the Rouergue. And the Mediterranean coast is just 80km away.
