Description

PLEASE read property description! Walk to downtown Asheville yet stay in a quiet residential neighborhood Central/North Asheville. Location so close to many entertainment, eating establishments, grocery and shopping. Minutes drive to Blue Ridge Parkway (from I 240 in East Asheville), Biltmore Mansion, the Arts District and a quick jump onto the interstates to hiking, rafting and waterfalls.

THIS IS A CABIN-LIKE EXPERIENCE (without fireplace).

A HOMESTAY (shared space in building but no door between units) is terrace level of a DUPLEX (not a basement, there is a basement below on parking level), very spacious with kitchenette, off street parking, eclectic decor from my travels. Owner stays in other unit (upstairs) on street level. Columbian coffee with agave nectar provided and filtered water pitcher.

Note: not suitable for children, couch not for sleeping, comfortable for up to 4 bodies.

*Terrace level is more temperate and stays cooler in summer and warmer in Winter.

*Summer comfort- window A/C in living room and master and fans in bedrooms and can open windows (NO central air so if you want a "hotel cold" space this isn't for you))

Winter- central heat (natural gas).

*Kitchenette - no stove/oven,or dishwasher. Has microwave/toaster, refrig, dining table, Keurig. Grocery stores, ice cream shops (3), coffee, bakery eateries and bars within walking distance.

*TV by antenna, gets ABC, NBC, FOX, PBS, all other channels must be accessed by your streaming apps.

Recommend these local gems The Hop, Taco Temple, Luella's BBQ, Rise n Shine Cafe, YoLo ice cream, City Bakery.

Getting around

Home is a 20 minute walk to the city center. From City Serenity catch an Uber or Lift around town (limited parking downtown). It is a few minutes drive from I 240 (circles the city) , and shortly intersects with I 26 E to Greenville and Charlotte, I 26W to Weaverville and Johnson City, and, I 40 E to Raleigh/Durham and I 40 W to Knoxville.

I give you your privacy. We share a parking area off street where we have 2 spots and there is street parking. I am always available by phone. Please feel free to call with any questions or if you want suggestions. Smart lock to front door and self check in between 3PM and 10PM.

“Cozy cottage with short walk to downtown Asheville”

We loved our stay at City Serenity. The cottage was cozy, clean and perfect for adults who wish to enjoy the local Asheville area. The vintage kitchen suited our simple needs and the living room was comfortable with large windows and aged knotty pine paneling. The sofa was perfect for relaxing with a good book and glass of wine after a day of walking/hiking or shopping. Marianne keeps board games available for her guests and we enjoyed playing them with our teenage son. The cottage is a duplex but we were not bothered by any noise from the main house. The cottage is on a VERY quiet street and Marianne offers private parking for her guests, which was nice, because we safely parked our car and mostly walked. Since our return to Ohio, we have recommended City Serenity to several friends who are interested in exploring Asheville.
