Description

"The Three Arches" is located in what has been called Washington DC's best kept secret, not only for its long-time locals, hipsters, and professional-class residents, collectively, but also visitors stumbling upon this colorful neighborhood for the first time: Columbia Heights. Once you've unpacked, you'll have easy access to the metro, its choices of watering-holes, and its thriving restaurant scene.

The closest subway stop is called "Columbia Heights" (which is just about a 4-5 minute walk from our address). Moreover, there is a bus stop (S1, S2, S4) right across the street from us that can take you straight to downtown. To pinpoint where you need to go (to visit the well-known city attractions) you’d need to see a MTA map; just go to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's site—and simply click on "schedules & maps".

If you're coming by car, it's "first come, first served" for my parking space at the rear of my building so you can park your car in it if it isn't occupied by another guest.

If you park on the street out front please keep in mind that from Monday to Friday: no parking from 7am to 9:30am (as it's usually rush hour); parking is allowed after 9:30am until 4pm; rush hour starts again at 4pm until 6:30pm thus no parking is allowed.

And as far as parking facilities/services in the Columbia Heights area, doing a search on parking facilities-referral sites like “Parking Panda” or “Park Whiz” is a good start. I’ve heard of one called Central Parking in Columbia Heights, but I can’t vouch for them because I’ve never used them.

For a city issued visitors parking permit, you can go to metropolitan police department dc's website and click on 'Safety & Prevention', then →'Traffic Safety', then → 'Streets' for info on how to obtain one.
