“Peaceful and relaxing holiday”

Reviewed 24 Jul 2022

We spent a very comfortable and relaxing week in this well appointed gîte. Extremely tranquil location with fabulous views of the surrounding area. Superb pool and pool area, outside seating areas in sun and shade. Great location for visiting the nearby towns and bastides. Thank you to Jane and Tony who were very welcoming hosts.

Response from the owner Hello Alison, I have only just seen your fantastic review for st Valentin cottage- it shows how often I check them. We really enjoyed meeting you both and hearing about your life and where you live. I have often wondered whether you are still thinking of a move to France. I hope that you are both well. Perhaps we’ll see you again if you revisit France. Very best wishes from Jane and Tony.

Really enjoyed my stay here. Very warm welcome from Tony snd Jane. The gite/cottage was so well equipped I felt as though I was at home. Nice and quiet if you want to relax, doze off in the lovely garden or go for a swim. Thoroughly recommend!

“Perfect peaceful location for two with pool and amazing views.”

Reviewed 9 Oct 2018

We received a warm welcome from Tony and his wife Jane who couldn't do enough to help throughout our stay. The cottage had everything you need including a well-equipped kitchen for self-catering, as well as a BBQ. A stunning pool with equally stunning views provided a great place to unwind after a day's sightseeing. It was an easy 45 minute drive from Bergerac Airport and the location close enough to local amenities as well as must see destinations such as Pujols and Monflanquin. Local markets are in abundance, as are restaurants, and we enjoyed tasting the local produce at the local Prune and Nut museums! The local donkey at the end of the lane was quite spoilt with his occasional foodie treat!! We would love to visit again.

“What a Gem!”

Reviewed 28 Oct 2016

This little cottage has everything you need for a lovely relaxing holiday. There are two patios both furnished with table and chairs and sun loungers in the private garden. There is sun or shade, whichever you prefer, throughout the day The pool is superb, it's a good size, heated, extremely clean and the views from the terrace are just beautiful. The pool terrace has a variety of seating/loungers and again in September we were able to find shade when we needed it. The surrounding countryside is really beautiful and the views from high up in the pretty bastide towns are stunning. The owners Tony and Jane are so welcoming and friendly. They will leave you to yourselves if you prefer but if you are happy to chat, so are they.

You are made to feel welcome the minute you arrive. This property is attached to the owners house but you have a full sense of privacy, with your own entrance and private garden. Jane and Tony have great suggestions of where to go and what to enjoy in the area. The night markets are a must. Also the golf course that is a few minutes away is a wonderful place to spend a few hours. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and felt extremely comfortable the whole time. Tony and Jane are tremendous hosts and you come away feeling like you have made lovely new friends. This Gite is excellent value for money.
