“A true escape” My partner & I spent a week in the annex recently. The location is wonderful in a peaceful, tranquil and rural setting very close to the beach and the beach bar and with great views of Knocknarea, which is a worthwhile climb or for a longer walk do the 15km walk which takes in the climb starting & finishing in Strandhill. The area is an ideal base for walking. We walked the Sligo Way over 3 days, starting in Lough Talt & finishing 73kms later in Dromahair. Beautiful & varying scenery all along the way. If 3 days is not for you any section of this way is breathtaking. Closer to home is the aughris Head/Dunmoran Strand Walk, a gorgeous cliff walk. The annex itself is comfortable and we enjoyed the added peace as there was noone staying in the attaching beach house while we were there until the last 2 nights, waking up each morning to just the sound of cows & sheep, a real escape.

“A fantastic Irish experience!” We loved our stay in the Thatched cottage- it is not luxurious, but we were not looking for luxury. We enjoy walking and the views were spectacular. The Thatched Cottage was the perfect base for our holiday. We could dry out our socks in front of the peat fire when it rained (which it did quite a lot) and it was quite a short drive into Westport where we enjoyed a drop of the black stuff and some fantastic music of an evening. Our hosts could not have been more friendly and accommodating. I would heartily recommend the Thatched Cottage to anyone who is after an authentic experience and who doesn't mind uneven floors!

“Nice Spot near to the sea” Its a perfectly acceptable modern cottage that is very clean. It is very handy for Bundoran and a good location for touring as it close to the Donegal - Sligo Road. The local pub is close and very friendly.

“Family is forever.” Paddy is the most gracious host, the house was clean and well stocked with all the amenities we needed. All the rooms were spacious and the kids loved climbing the rocks in the back. What a view. I should write a terrible review so the house will be available at a cheaper rate next year but I can't. Tranquil escape beautiful scenery lakeshore mayo
Exceeded every expectation

The only reason I gave this rental an "excellent" in every category was because there wasn't a "mind-blowing" or "jaw-dropping" or "completely exceptional in every way" to choose from. The house itself is immaculate, well-maintained, comfortable and inviting. It is fully equipped with everything you might need for your stay and the kitchen set-up is brilliant. The surrounding scenery literally took our breath away on the first morning of our stay in mid-winter. If you're coming from anywhere colder than Ireland in January, this will seem like an early spring for you! Utterly gorgeous! The owners were wonderful. They went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and treated us like family. I simply can not say enough about their grace, kindness and thoughtfulness in making our trip so special for a family of ten at Christmas. If you have the chance to travel to Ireland, jump at it and while you're at it, book a stay at Pontoon House in County Mayo. You will not regret it. We planned our entire two week vacation around this house and its location and it's the smartest travel decision we've made in our lives! … see more

Living the good life in Clifden

Wow! From initial contact with the owners to renting to checking in with the house minder, we had a terrific experience. But wait, that's nothing compared to actually living in Cuach Cottage. This lovely cottage is everything we expected and more. Comfortable and extremely clean home was well-stocked and beautifully decorated with everything we needed. Stunning setting just outside the town included trout stream, great patio with view of Twelve Bens, our own cows and sheep just outside the fence. We hope to return to Cuach Cottage soon! … see more

Spiddal Cottage
Perfect place for a relaxing break

The cottage had everything we needed. The owner, Patsy, was on hand if we wanted anything, but let us get on with enjoying our break. Spiddal was lovely with a craft village celebrating traditional skills - we found some beautiful gifts (I'm keeping most of them myself!). The cottage was a short walk from the beach which was a fantastic place whatever the weather. We had some wonderful walks with the dog. The drive into Galway was easy and we enjoyed the contrast with the tranquility of Spiddal. We would definitely go back. … see more

A peaceful, charming and beautiful place to vacation

If you need a somewhere to reset your mind and leave the mad rush of the world behind, I can recommend no place better than The Old Fisherman's Cottage on Achill Island. The interior of the cottage is modern and very nicely decorated. Two good size bedrooms for adults and a small bedroom with a bunk bed for smaller children. The access to the upstairs bedrooms and the bathroom is via a steep staircase, not recommended for people with walking difficulties. The location is quiet, and overlooking the ocean and sheep will wander into the garden, which all adds to the charm of the place. … see more
