“Fabulous place to stay,helpful owners,perfect location” This is the second time we have stayed at this fabulous villa. We have always found the owners to be welcoming, extremely helpful and very friendly. The accommodation is finished and maintained to a high standard with all home comforts and the appliances you might require. The upstairs apartment is spacious, clean and very comfortable. The garden and surrounding areas are lovely and once again highly maintained. Even though car hire is a must, For us, the location is perfect. There is a short and pleasurable drive (approx 15-20 mins) to the beautiful shores of Lake Bolsena, where you can spend some time in the medieval old town or relax at different points around the lake.The location of the villa makes it very easy for taking in the numerous sights locally and a little further afield. There is so much to see in this beautiful area of Italy that we are going to have to return!

“A gem near Orvieto” We loved agriturismo Frallarenza, near Orvieto. We were 3 women staying in the "small apartment", which was a perfect size. The owners, Francesco and Serena, have the gift of ensuring your needs are met (and exceeded) but allow you to explore and enjoy on your own, while they tend to the hard work of running a farm. Their kindness, enthusiasm and passion for what they do is apparent.The apartment was enhanced with family furniture and hand made ceramics and weavings by Serena. Enjoying the bounty of the land, such as their newly pressed olive oil, fresh fruit eggs, as well as Serena's treats were a highlight. The house is solar powered, and there was always hot water and heat when needed. (We were there in a warm late October, but the nights and mornings were cool.) Francesco spent unhurried time with us, giving us ideas and maps for our day trips. We stayed for 4 nights, but wished we had more time to slow down and savor Frallarenza. The setting among the groves and the Umbrian hills was magical. Highly recommended!

“Fabulous Time” My husband and 23 year old son stayed in one of the upstairs apartments for about one week October 2012. Franco and Bozena were wonderful host and hostess. The farm and apartment are exactly as presented. Simple but clean, great views from each terrace, and kitchen well supplied. The pool was beautiful but a little too chilly to swim in October. Franco cooked a wonderful 'saffron' meal for us and a German couple who were also staying at the farm. Lots of wonderful day trips from the farm. We hope to return very soon!!

“...like at home!” I think the title says it all. Francesca and David's hospitality and understated elegance of the structure make it a special destination to spend days of comfortable relaxation. the surrounding area tours and excursions allow interested but probably, as has happened to us (family with 2 children), you'll want to enjoy the place of not feeling the need to move from Tara!

Best place in Umbria! Ideal to explore central Italy

My husband and I spent two weeks at the villa in early September. It couldn't have been better! Malcolm and Giulia are warm, friendly and helpful and made our stay very special. This is a very large apartment, but welcoming and comfortable. It is beautifully renovated charming, clean and well-equipped. The location, very close to Orvieto is perfect as a home base for visiting the many beautiful hilltop villages, although we found our favourite days were ones spent relaxing and enjoying the grounds and the shade under the oak trees. We loved the al fresco dining on the balcony overlooking the rolling Umbrian hills and the magical sunsets on the lake. We helped Giulia harvest the figs and the berries, and enjoyed tomatoes fresh from their garden. I made a wonderful ricotta and blackberries cake and we shared it with Malcolm and Giulia under their porch with a lovely glass of chilled Orvieto. We look forward to visiting again this year, but this time we'll bring our friends to enjoy this beautiful place! … see more

Unforgettable holiday in a wonderful location by warm hearted pe

We spent 2 weeks at casa Greppo in July 2013 with our 2 kids and 2 dogs: we had such a great experience that we decided to go back again this year for 3 weeks. Never up to now we spent our holidays in the same location twice! At casa Greppo we really forgot about our everyday life and enjoyed the peace of the place, the cordiality of the owners and the great italian food available in the many "trattoria" not far away from the house. The house is very tidy and perfectly integrated in the umbrian hills. nothing is missing and whatever you might need on top, ask Cristina or Piero! It is surrounded by olive trees and offers a wonderful view on the hills and on the middle age Ruins of a suggestive Castle. The big swimming pool, cleaned every day by Piero, has been one of the preferred entertainments for our kids, sometimes until midnight, while we adults were cradled by the pleasant sound of the cicadas. Piero and Cristina ( the 2 owners of casa Greppo) did everything they could to make us feel at our ease: sitting on the patio and talking to them exchanging recipes on Umbrian and Sicilian foods, eating fresh figs from their 2 plants, allowed us to live in a total relaxing mediterranean atmosphere for 2 weeks. The house is also very well located to reach some of the most known italian cities an places, as assisi, Todi, Perugia, Rome. So, you will never get bored here. Hospitality and tranquility in the heart of Umbria

This house comes with our warmest recommendations. It is well kept, has a nice pool and a stunning vista over the hills and meadows of central Umbria. The interior is made in traditional Italian style: all terracotta floors and rustic furniture. The major sights of the region are all close: Assissi, Todi, Spoleto, Orvieto and Perugia. The house is rented directly from the family that owns it, and we have really appreciated their care and hospitality during our stays. A smaller village with a few bars and cafés are just three kilometers away, and larger Marsciano (about 10 km away) has all opportunities for buying groceries. Umbrian food is excellent, as is it's wines. A car is necessary - the house is located in the countryside. … see more

Cannot Wait to Return

We absolutely loved this house. Gianpaolo is the nicest man - when we arrived he brought wine, olive oil and eggs and was very helpful when we couldn't open the washing machine. The location is fantastic as it is about 30 minutes from no end of great places to visit - Orvieto, Perugia, Assisi, Deruta, Tuscany. San Venanzo is a mile away and Marsciano is about 5 to 10 minutes. There is a large supermarket there to go shopping. The house itself is spacious and comfortable. The view is ridiculous. We were too early for the pool but would love to return at a warmer time. Everything worked great. We cannot wait to return again soon. … see more

Wonderful stay at Frallarenza

We had a marvelous stay at Frallarenza during Easter 2015. Francesco and Serena are one of the best hosts we have ever met. The small apartment was perfect for us and immaculate. It was filled with Serena's beautiful ceramics and her creative woven and knitted objects. Not a thing was forgotten; there was even a first aide kit. The refrigerator and pantry were well stocked; we were supplied with duck and chicken eggs,bread, cookies, jams, honey, butter, olive oil and a homemade tart, among other items. We loved the apartment, the location and the cooking course where we helped prepare a excellent dinner. We hope we can return to Frallarenza soon. … see more
