Additional Location Information

Woolloongabba is most famous for 'The Gabba' Cricket Ground - home of the Brisbane Lions AFL team, and venue for international cricket matches such as The Ashes. Your holiday home in Flower Street is just a ten minute walk from this iconic sporting venue, so while you're here make sure you check out what's on.

And after the game, there's the need for a refreshing drink, and maybe something to eat - and Woolloongabba has a huge variety of choices! Try a bistro meal or take your palce at the bar at one of the excellent local pubs like The Chalk Hotel, and the Aussie Nash (The Australian National Hotel), the Broadway Hotel, the Lord Stanley, and The Pineapple Hotel in Kangaroo Point. There's also many great restaurants - we love the Thai Rose at the Gabba Fiveways - artistic bars like Canvas, and great little coffee shop surprises like the one situated within Gabba Antiques - it's a bit of a retro visit to the 50s and 60s, and you can shop at the same time for some amazing art deco and vintage pieces.

Many visitors like to try their hand at doing the Storey Bridge climb, other adventurous souls head to Kangaroo Point Cliffs for rock climbing and abseiling ... or if you're like me you'll just sit in the cafe at the top of Kangaroo Point Cliffs and enjoy the view. There are loads of walkways into the city, around to Southbank Parklands, or over to New Farm as well.

Have a great shopping day of the eclectic kind at Boundary Street, West End - just a 5 minute drive away - -many little shops with a great array of vintage and other items. Boundary Street is also a great place for live music - try the Boundary Hotel, the Musik Cafe, or the Lock'n'Load (which also has a gorgeous restaurant out the back under the trees - must try their tasting plates!)
