“Views! Views! Views!” We recently spent a week in your beautiful house and loved every minute of it. We were greeted by the lovely Vicky who showed us around the house & made us feel welcome. From the luxurious under floor heating to the spectacular views it ensured we enjoyed our stay at Goldrush Glory and all that Queenstown has to offer. We would definately choose to stay there again the next time we visit Queenstown.

“Vistas like no other...” This was our third stay with Michael and Nery over the past sven years, and it just keeps getting better. Having made multiple trips to Queenstown over the years, I'm quite certain there are few places that offer views and hospitality as wonderful as that on offer at Trelawn. Fate willing, my family and I plan to make many a return trip in the years to come!

“Luxury accommodation, best views, lots of space!” This place was amazing, best views in Queenstown. I can go on and on but will summarize with this: -7 of us stayed here and it was cheaper than staying in hotel rooms -Views are stunning and pictures don't do it justice -If I designed a luxury house, this would be it. -5 minute drive to downtown Queenstown My family loved me for booking this place. Just incredible.

The Cherry tree house Queenstown

Queenstown house

  • 1 bedroom
  • 2 bathrooms

“Perfect Wedding Venue/Accommodation” The Cherry Tree house perfectly suited our needs as 'newlyweds' with a 3 year old in tow. We were able to fulfil parental duties and also relax in the comfort of the cottage and with the hospitality of Nery and Michael - we chose to have full breakfasts in the main house. The location of the cherry tree house at Trelawn affords privacy and inclusion as we stayed at Trelawn with our entire family to celebrate our marriage, which was performed on the deck of the main house, and organised by Nery and Michael :) The Cherry Tree house had a full kitchen/dishwasher and laundry. We were able to relax in the evening in the lounge area away from the sleeping child. The Spa bath was a highlight for me!

About Queenstown

Known as the adventure capital of the world, Queenstown, New Zealand has every adventure sport you can imagine and then some!

Add to this the spectacular scenery of the Southern Alps, plus an affordable rental property on FlipKey and you have a recipe for fun, excitement and an amazing vacation.

About Queenstown

Surrounded by mountains on the shore of Lake Wakatipu, Queensland, and the Wakatipu Basin that it sits on, was formed 15,000 years ago by glacial movement.

Native Maoris have lived there for 700 years, but it was the discovery of gold in 1862 that had European settlers rushing to build a shanty town on the shore of the lake.

When the gold ran out, the settlers left leaving the land to the sheep farmers who went about their business undisturbed until tourists started arriving to ski the surrounding mountains.

One of Queenstown’s biggest claims to fame is the invention of bungee jumping. One day, AJ Hackett and Henry Van Asch allowed the public to use their invention to jump off the 43 meters high Kawarau Bridge. You can still try it today! Go on, we dare you.

Today, Queenstown is a cosmopolitan place full of youngsters from around the globe all in search of Southern Hemisphere skiing and great nightlife.

What to do

Adventure sports still remain the biggest reason to visit Queenstown. You'll find a terrifying 134-meter bungee jump called the “Nevis Thriller” that is supposed to be as close to base jumping as you can get without a parachute.

Jet-boating is another of Queenstown’s adrenalin-pumping activities. You basically fly down the Kawarau River at speeds of 90kph while making death-defying turns and 360-degree spins.

If you’re more in the mood for keeping your feet firmly on the ground, visit Kiwi Birdlife Park where you can learn all about New Zealand’s native bird and other species that call the South Island home.

With the popularity of Queensland as a destination still growing, several young chefs have opened up restaurants around the lake. This means you're able to taste the finest New Zealand lamb with a locally grown pinot noir while gazing at snow-capped mountains. Incredible!

Top Queensland travel tips

The best time to visit Queensland depends on what you’re looking to do. If it’s skiing, then you need to visit mid-June through early October, when most of the Northern Hemisphere are on their summer vacations.

If crowds are not your thing, visit between March and April or in November and avoid long lines.

Because Queenstown attracts a young crowd, the bar scene can be pretty rowdy, so if you’re just looking to go out for a quiet drink, head up the lake to Glenorchy for tranquility in a “Lord of the Rings” setting.

There is no escaping the fact that Queenstown has one of the most spectacular natural settings on the planet.

Combine the scenery with a great place to stay that you found on FlipKey, and there really is not a bad time to visit Queensland and the South Island of New Zealand.

Queenscliff luxury villa in Queenstown New Zealand with hot tub
Simply Spectacular!

Queenscliff was an amazing 3 level house - the views were simply spectacular, and everything we needed was available. House facilities were exceptional and it helped we were only a 5-10 minute walk into town. Highly recommend 'Relax it's Done'. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating to our needs. Overall, a spectacular way to celebrate any occasion and will no doubt use Relax its Done services in the future.see more

Extremely comfortable stay with magnificent views over lake Waka

Thank you Kristen for a very comfortable stay in your beautifully positioned townhouse. Your views are truly magnificent over Frankton arm & The Remarkables. Our stay was very comfortable and we felt like it was our home away from home, albeit only for one week. We would certainly contact you again on return visits to Queenstown. Many thanks Ian & Di MacMillansee more

Excellent stay

Plenty of room in a beautiful setting. Very quiet but less than 5 minutes drive to noisy Queenstown. Also a great place to take a "day off" on a trip and relax. Will highly recommend to friends. … see more

Quintessentially Perfect

From the moment of our arrival the wow factor was overpowering. It was a perfect cottage, perfectly stunning view and perfect hosts. Nery and Michael did everything they could to make our stay a most memorable experience. They arranged our perfect trip to Milford Sound ( Glenorchy air) and to Skipper's Canyon with the added benefit of local guide and very skilled driver. Michael and Nery provided us with fantastic local insight which meant we were able to maximise our experience in the limited time we had in the area. They seemed to instinctively shape their advice to our capabilities and we are sure they could tailor this advice to fit the requirements of all of their guests. The accommodation is set to a very high standard and the location is stunningsee more

Amazing views

My wife and I stayed in the self contained apartment, the bottom level of the house which is on a steep site giving the most amazing uninterrupted views of the lake and the Remarkables range, visible from the kitchen living room and bedroom through floor to ceiling glass doors, which open onto a lawn terrace with a gas barbecue. We were met by the property manager who briefed us on the amenities, Sky TV and free wifi. The property was spotless and had good quality linen and towels, and bathroom amenities. The kitchen was well equipped. The town centre is 10 minutes by car or a walk of 30 minutes takes you to the lake. Access is down 2 flights of steps so that people of limited mobility would need to know this. There is a good local bistro 15 minutes walk away. Just outside the airport is a good supermarket, essential for flights arriving late.see more
Goldrush Holiday Home #2 - Queenstown NZ
Heaven on earth!!

We loved our stay at Goldrush Glory. The entire family were wowed by the view as soon as we walked through the door. Our two teenage daughters claimed the bottom floor and loved the view and the house. The house is very well appointed with all amenities and next time we plan just to come here and stay for the week. The service from both Kristen (owner) and Vicky (property manager) was excellent. The location is excellent and having stayed in Queenstown itself last time we much prefer this location as the view is just beautiful anytime day or night.see more
