The premises are gorgeous, spacious and the gardens and swimming pool were immaculately maintained. All appliances functioned well, we never ran out of hot water, air conditioning worked well and the landlord supplied toiletries and cleaning supplies which was not done at other villas where we stayed in Italy on previous occasions. The views from the large terraces, and from almost every bedroom, of the coast, Ravello and amalfi, are absolutely breathtaking. I was surprised to learn that one may walk all the way down to amalfi using the ancient stone stairways (vertical distance of 1200 feet), if you are in sufficient physical condition to do so.
We found the landlady to be very accommodating and her assistant, Signora Lydia, speaks perfect English and is always available for help or advice. The Villa is conveniently located for visiting the amalfi Coast, Naples, Sorrento, Ravello, Pompeii and the numerous small towns in the vicinity. There are several local restaurants nearby where one may dine with the locals and sample their cuisine.Villa Minerva is at the top of my list as far as pure beauty and ambiance, and its location on the side of a mountain requires one to get his/her daily exercise by walking up around 80-90 steps to get to the street where you may park your car. If you do not like walking up and down steps, this is not your place; however, I found it exhilarating. Although there is no parking next to the Villa, since it is located on a beautiful mountainside, there is ample parking on the street above for a fee. Carrying your bags up and down the steps will not be a problem as there are locals for hire to do this for you, if desired.
I would highly recommend Villa Minerva to anyone.
