Relax in charming Luthy Lodge, nestled in the valley of the Glencoaghan Horseshoe in the Twelve Bens Mountain Range. This west of Ireland stone clad cottage is tastefully furnished and has everything you need for an enjoyable self-catering vacation. Accomodation comprises entrance hall, a large living and dining room with kitchen, a master bedroom with en suite shower room (double and single bed ), two twin bedrooms (one upstairs) and family bathroom. Bed linen and towels are provided for your stay. Patio doors lead to an outdoor area with table/chairs. Kitchen equipped with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, 5 ring gas stove, electric fan oven, lobster pot, fish kettle, blender, dishes, glasses, cutlery etc. Washing machine.
Views are of the stunning mountains, river and valley - a blanket bog and home to many animals, Connemara ponies and wild birds. The white tailed eagle is a visitor. The immediate area supports many wild native plants. Connemara and the Twelve Bens Mountains are a haven to those interested in nature.

Luthy Lodge is located in the peaceful Glencoaghan Valley of the Twelve Bens Mountains with spectacular mountain & valley views. It is in the Recess area and only ten minutes drive to the renowned Ballynahinch Castle hotel and estate for dinner, fishing or forest and river walks.
Clifden, Connemara's capital, the famous Sky Road Drive and the picturesque fishing village of Roundstone are all within a leisurely twenty minutes drive where a choice of restaraunts, pubs, art, crafts and shops are located.
Among many others, the fabulous white sandy beaches of Gurteen & Dogs Bay, Coral Strand, Mannin beach and Omey Strand are within 30 minutes drive.
Enjoyable days out include visiting the Connemara Championship Golf Links, the Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey & Walled Gardens, Westport, Cleggan Village with ferry access to Inishbofin Island and Rossaveal or Inverin for the Aran Islands.
The famous site of Guglielmo Marconi Transatlantic Transmitting Station, the Transatlantic Landing area of Alcock and Brown are nearby, just outside Clifden.
Other amenities in the area include Glendalough Pitch and Putt Course, Horse Riding and Fishing Trips. Leenane Sheep & Wool Centre and Dan O' Hara's Cultural Centre- both have Gift shops & Cafes-are close by for a historic look at life in Connemara. GlenGowla Mines near Oughterard also provide an interesting tour with cafe & rock shop.
There is a Tourist Information Centre in Clifden.
