Amapola House Beach Area Villa - Pool Roof Spa Tub
Description from the owner
Puerto Rico's Amapola House is a private getaway minutes from the quaint town of Rincon, nestled near sweeping hillsides and tropical scenery in the Caribbean islands. Located a few minutes away from pristine Sandy Beach and the best Rincon restaurants and bars, Amapola House provides a comfortable resting place for those that want to have an activity-filled day, but a quiet place to return to at night.
The owners make sure that Amapola House feels more like second home than a hotel. Built by the Avilés family, who has lived in the area for generations, the house features modern design and stylish décor. Named after the hibiscus flowers that used to bloom on the property of the family matriarch, Amelia Avilés, Amapola House features original paintings, family heirlooms and historic surfing photos and sepias of Old Rincon going back to the 1890's.
Arriving Guests receive a tour from the house Concierge, who answers any questions about the house or what to do while in Rincon. Once situated, guests can sit in comfortable chairs and look out into the tropical scenery from the Starlight Veranda, the private suite terrace or the lower pool deck. They can also sunbathe on the Sunset Sky Deck, which also features a jumbo-sized spa tub, perfect for relaxing evenings.
Amapola House is a four-level vacation home with four bedrooms. All the bedrooms include large closets and either a queen bed or two twin beds. With three full bathrooms, the house comfortably accommodates up to eight people. Rooms are decorated in rich yellow and terracotta tones in a contemporary style. A private suite is located on its own level with a private terrace and outdoor dining area. Guests who like to cook on holiday will love the fully equipped kitchen and cocktail bar. Amapola House also offers a dining service for eight, and several great restaurants are minutes away.
Amapola House offers a unique vacation experience that vastly differs from others in the area. Located in a private area that is only reachable through nearly untraveled roads, it gives guests seclusion and tranquility, while still being close to the area's best beaches and hotspots. The art, antiques and photos offer a glimpse into Rincon's past and the history of surfing. Guests will truly feel at home at Amapola House, which was designed to do just that.
The golden sands and pristine waters of Sandy Beach are only two minutes by car and ten minutes on foot. Our Sky Deck sunsets are unforgettable and and the nights are filled with millions of stars and the moonlight.
The interior is designer-decorated and contains a private collection of heirloom antiques and vintage photographs of Old Rincon and Surfing legends, which are part of The Amapola House Story.
The Amapola House 24/7 VIP Arrival & Departure Service includes a personal tour at check-in and personal assistance at check out. Additional Amapola House Concierge Services include local taxi service, airport transportation, baby sitting, maid and laundry service, as well as grocery shopping and catered food services.

Our kitchen and bar are well-equipped. Guest sleeps quite comfortably in beds with high-quality mattresses and high-count linens (no futons or pull outs). Extra large closets keep your living accommodations spacious.
Our oversized towels are plush and so are our beach towels. The large bathrooms offer rain shower heads, glass basins and oversized mirrors to allow you to pamper yourself as you prepare for the evening, after a day at the beach or a day trip.
iPod stereos, DVD players, flat screen TV's and full cable TV service provide entertainment between outings. High-speed wireless Internet keeps you connected when you want to be.

It is rare that I am so exuberant about recommendations but amapola House is the kind of place that warrants such high accolades. Amapola House never disappoints.. We've come and stayed so many times. Each time with different people but one thing stays constant... the charm and incredible magic of this place. When we're here..it's home!
This time, we came to celebrate my brother's wedding and were able to share that magic with our closest relatives and friends...something I've wanted to do for a very long time. The private suite downstairs was perfect and offered the right amount of privacy for my brother and his fiancee.
In the main house, the rest of the family comfortably enjoyed the three impeccably decorated bedrooms. The living space consists of a kitchen, dining area and living room. This wide open great space spills out through french doors into a wrap-around terrace that offers breath-taking views. My favorite place for my morning "cafecito" or my afternoon cocktail. The spiral stairs on the terrace lead you up to a sky deck hot tub where many a night we watched stars and enjoyed family time.
Amapola House is strategically situated close enough to the awe-inspiring beaches, the award-winning bars and the many gourmet restaurants that Rincon has to offer.
Kudos to Peter anthony, owner and proprietor, for hitting a "home run"... in his hometown.
And true to the sign that adorns this kitchen: "Because our days here are filled with so much love and laughter... This will always be a magical place"! ...and we will visit again and again.

My son, his wife and two grandchildren, we all were very impressed with the house. Beautiful, roomy and most of all very confortable. We meet the Manager at the house (have to say it was a little differcult finding)
he went through the house with us and he was very admirable, and professional. We enjoyed our stay very much. Also the Beach, and our favorite spot to eat at of course the Beach. (Sandy Beach that is) at

Waking up early in the morning to sit on the rooftop lounge chairs to take in the mountains and the sea beyond them while reading a book and sipping on some of the best coffee Puerto Rico has to offer was more than enough to make this vacation and stay at the house worth it. With proximity to the beach, fantastic local restaurants and bars and other adventures like horseback riding on the beach, there is no other place I would rather spend a week to get away from "real life." The house itself is spectacular and off the beaten path, which adds to the experience.

A group of 8 of us travelled to Rincon for a weeks stay. This modern villa was imaculate with fantastic utilities and comfortable rooms. I would recommend renting a car if you were to stay here as it's a little off the beaten track, ten minute walk from the beach and a good distance from the town of Rincon.
There are many advantages of staying at this villa, watching the sunset from the rooftop, bathing in the hot tub whilst listening to music, having a nice glass of wine striaght from the wine cooler in the kitchen and lots lots more.
You really have to see it to beleive it! I would most certainly recommend a stay at Amapola House.

My husband and I live in New Jersey and we went to Rincon, PR to attend a wedding. We were the first couple to stayed at the Amapola Ocean View Villa. We were accompanied by my sister, brother-in-law and our daughter. We had a maravelous time at the Villa. The view the peace and quiet and the atmposhere was marvelous. The Villa was well equipped, beautifully furnished and Peter and his staff were wonderful. They made sure that everything we needed was available to us. We would back to enjoy this beautiful place. Thanks to Peter our vacation was delightful.

My Fiance Steve and I had the pleasure of staying at the Amapola house and just loved it! The house is wonderful, the decor is lovely, and the view is amazing. The only reason I'm not rating it 5 stars is simply because of a neighborhood rooster that we nicknamed "Rooster Cogburn" that woke us up each morning at dawn...honestly though I think you'd be hard pressed to find a neighborhood in Puerto Rico without roosters!
"Beautiful and comfortable house in a quiet neighborhood."

This is such a beautiful house. It was super clean and spacious. The AC kept it very comfortable. The view from the balcony and the roof is breathtaking. The property manager was extremely friendly and helpful. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly. The rooftop deck with the hot tub was fun in the evenings. The house is on the top of a hill which helps keep it cool and affords the sweeping views, but it makes walking home from the beach a bit of a climb. It is a little hard to find the house for the 1st time, I'd recomend trying to arrive during the day. The area is fairly rual, if my memory is correct, there is a small town 20 minutes away but it takes at least 40 minutes to drive to the major services on the highway (i.e. big supermarkets, national chain pharmacies, k-mart, fast food, sit down restaurants).

This lovely villa gave us the perfect beach vacation. We love the beach, but prefer to sleep not too close to it, so the location was just perfect for our stay. We'd spend our days on the beaches and our nights at beach side restaurants and bars and when we'd be done partying, a cool and quiet night was just minutes away.
On arrival, we were met by someone from the rental agency, who answered all of our questions about the house and the area. She showed us where everything was, including a guest guidebook, which proved to be quite invaluable. We were awestruck by the owner's family heirlooms, the details inside the villa and the family pictures going back to the 1800's, as well as the huge original Rincon surfing pictures by a famous photographer from the '60s that were just incredible.
Everything was beautiful but functional. The rooftop hot tub at sunset was relaxing and uplifting. The bar and the wine cooler were so convenient. Everything was well designed to take full advantage of the nature preserve and the ocean view; we felt like we were in a private retreat compound, but just minutes from it all; and at a much better price!
Even in June, the ocean breezes were refreshing. The terrace rockers were great, but we'd like to see a few more. The place was super clean and was easy to keep clean with tile on the floors and the kitchen counter. The oversize glass basins in the bathrooms were beautiful and functional. When you turn the lamps on, they glow brighter for a few seconds, a very cool effect. The neighbors were humble and friendly, offering us fruit picked from their trees. We saw thousands of stars above the roof deck and hundreds of fireflies below; these were nights to always remember.
We travel all over, but always enjoy Rincon and now, Amapola House. We've already made our reservations for next year- We love Rincon and adore Amapola House!

I stayed at Amapola House last Summer and preparing to stay again soon. It's quickly become my favorite Rincon spot to stay at. The thing about Amapola House is that although it's quite new, it's also natural and authentic- an instant classic! It's close enough to the beach, the bars and restaurants, but just far enough to spend quiet nights gazing at the stars from the hot tub on the rooftop deck. I've stayed in many Rincon places (from The Horned Dorset to Tamboo) and it's almost as if the owners of Amapola House took all the best features from all of them and synthesized them into this great villa. I read the history of the place at the Amapola House website and it's quite interesting- the old photographs and family antiques can only be appreciated by those who stay at Amapola House. The 1960's original Surfing photos are quite a blast. Anyone who wants to have a true Rincon experience must stay, at least once, at Amapola House Ocean View Villa.
