Our stay for 8 days in June was most enjoyable and different. We come to Rome most years and usually stay at the Raphael but last time their change of direction was unpleasant so this time we though we would try an apartment for the first time. This was a great decision, apart from the substantial saving in cash, the freedom, increase in space, air conditioning and wi-fi that worked AND the washing machine made for a much better stay in a slightly different area. There are 33 steps up to the first floor so I do not think anyone with a disability can use the apartment, however we are in our 60's and had no trouble up and down several times a day , to the bakery underneath, the market, the bars, restaurants and of course gelato places. Noise was not a problem through the shuttered and then double glazed windows so the parties in Campo Dei Fiori did not worry us. The shower was always hot , the bed comfortable, plenty of space in the rooms for storage, especially the bathroom. You could not cook a 10 person dinner in the kitchen but it is Rome so you eat out at night , however for breakfast the kitchen worked well. Polly was most helpful with restaurant recommendations and where to shop locally ( the cheese/dairy/yoghurt shop and bakery are just metres away and the deli for meats etc. across the square. Polly also arranged a car to the airport and is a really nice and interesting person to chat too. (she lives next door). Public transport is close by but we walked everywhere as usual. Vatican, Pz del Popolo , Trastevere, Villa Borghese...... We would be happy to stay again, Many thanks Paola.
