Additional Location Information

The Minerva Apartment is located on the edge of the lively and interesting Esquilino quarter of Rome, bordering on the Celio quarter, where the Colosseum lies. Located in an art-deco style building at Via Principe Eugenio,90, halfway down the block from the main thoroughfare of Via Manzoni, it lies within the old city walls of Rome, on the east side of the city center. We are near the Porta Maggiore city gate of the old Aurelian walls of Rome which englobes a remnant of the Claudia acqueduct and just beyond the gate is the ancient Baker's Tomb, all situated 400m away, at the end of our same street, and the ancient ruins of the Nymphaeum, also erroneously called the Temple of Minerva, are around the corner at 200m.There are the ruins of a 2.000 year-old Roman water-pumping station for the neighborhood within the Piazza Vittorio city park at 3 blocks down the street and also the intriguing "mystic doorway" there, with symbols of different religions upon it. It is a brief walk to the Colosseum(1450m) and Forum archeological complex and to the Termini station(1400m), and we are located midway between these two main sites. The sunny Minerva Apartment is excellently situated for services and transport, with a large, well-stocked supermarket on the corner(50m), Piazza Vittorio covered farmers market at 4 blocks away, a pharmacy at 100m, 2 ATMs within 400m, Piazza Vittorio city park 300m away, a parking garage around the corner and another nearby,Rome's oldest ice-cream parlour 50 m away, good, varied retail shopping, the Oviesse department store on the square at 400m, excellent transport, 4 coffee bars nearby for a cappuccino, a wine bar at 30m, an internet point/calling center at 80m, a tobacco store for bus tickets & stamps 50m away and several Tripadvisor-recommended restaurants all close under the house. We are very fortunate to be not far from the Colle Oppio Park with the ruins of Nero's "Domus Aurea" , now visitable in part, after years of restoration- all this and much more at the charming Minerva Apartment.Buses, trams and the subway/tube are very close by, or one can walk downtown as one does much walking in Rome, being a polycentric city with Europe's largest historic center. We speak English, French, Spanish and Italian and the Minerva Apartment is run by a state-licensed Tour Manager to top standards of service, cleanliness and courtesy. See our many reviews for tips from satisfied past clients. After booking a stay at the Minerva Apartment, we send the Minerva Information pack to clients, it is a pdf file to print and also bring on your computer, with many tips on Rome, transport and the area, to help make your stay a better one. If you have any questions, just write or call us between Central European Time 8 am (GMT +1 - 7 am) - 11pm (GMT+1 - 10 pm), we are 9 hours ahead of North America's Western seabord time, 6 hours ahead of North America's Eastern coast time, 6 hours behind of Beijing time and 9 hours behind Australian time. We have won many Tripavisor and Flipkey awards, including the 2014 Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence this year and have served many happy clients in our half decade of service as one can see for themselves on the Tripadvisor review page for the Minerva Apartment.
