Everything you need, from views to feeling a part of Rome by having your own home away from home. Easy access to the Pantheon and Campo d'fiori, and onwards to so many other sites. Clean, organized concisely for the space, and a heavenly quiet to return to after hours in the city crowds. Giacomo was available (by email) and booked car back to airport...he made it all very easy.

This apartment was quite well located within a short walk to the Pantheon (allowing multiple visits as we wandered about), and the Largo Argentina with the cat colony (for those who care about cats). A grocery store is located around the corner that worked out fine for our stay of 5 days. There is an elevator (plus one short stair) to access the apartment, always a treat not to have to carry the luggage up many stories.
The apartment is compact, but comfortable and quiet. The kitchen is efficient and allowed us to prepare most of our meals. The living room has a comfortable couch, TV with HDMI jack for watching video from your computer. The internet speed was very good, and supported streaming.
The bath has a tub with shower. The bed was fine.
The owner met us for the check in at the apartment and was quite helpful.
When in Rome we will stay here. It is nice to find a rental apartment that you can feel good to go back to. This is a great base for exploring Rome.
Would you recommend this vacation rental to a friend?

This apartment is in a perfect location to experience Rome. It is a very short walk to the Pantheon and Capitoline Hill, and very close to one of the main bus stops. We were able to walk or bus everywhere, including the Vatican. Banks, Pharmacy, Grocery, and Coffee very nearby as well. The apartment itself is off of Piazza Gesu with a nice open square in front of it. The building has a giant door entry, and an inner courtyard. Apartment is up a couple floors and there is a small elevator. Place is very warm and inviting. There were 4 of us staying and with the pull out sofa in the living room and full bedroom with closing door we had enough space and privacy. The small balcony was a great place to sit and relax after a long day of sightseeing. One thing to keep in mind for your stay though, is that all consumables such as toilet paper are not included. We had a small roll when we got there and ran out quickly with none to replace it. (Made use of the bidet till we could get more! :) The place was great and we loved Rome. I would definitely recommend this apartment.

We had a great stay. It is a safe place and very central to all Rome's great central sights. The apartment had all we needed for our 9 nights and Giacomo arranged our transfer in from the airport which went like clockwork.

We stayed for a week and enjoyed every minute. The owner, a lovely man called Giacomo, was there to meet us on arrival and also arranged for a car from the airport which took the stress out of traveling into Rome. The apartment is well furnished and perfectly located for sightseeing - you can literally walk to all of the most popular sights. There is also a lovely small balcony to enjoy a glass of wine after a day out and about. We couldn't have chosen a nicer holiday flat, a better location or a more helpful owner. Should we return to Rome, we would love to stay here again.

The Castore apartment is in the best location for all major Rome attractions. It is furnished in an elegant and classical style.
We walked with our little 10 yr old daughter to all attractions.
Giacome met us promptly and gave us a map to reach all tourist spots by foot. He was friendly and very helpful. The kitchen was fully equipped and even had basic groceries. The bed was awesome. All equipment in the apartment are modern and work well. Our stay in Rome was fantastic because of this apartment.
We hope to come back in future!
This apartment was in a fabulous location. Walking distance to all the major sights of Rome. The bed was very hard, but we grew accustomed. There was no washing machine, though the promo pictures show one. A gorgeous typical Italian space. Great TV. Clean and functional. Great communication with Giacomo both before and after. Dear Barbara, thank you for your review, you have been perfect hosts.
The mattress is made in wool carded few months ago. Indeed it is quite hard and it is important and proper that future guests are aware of this.
A small note on the washing machine; I have 2 apartments, Castore and Polluce, the second has the washing machine while Castore not. Maybe you remembered to have seen the picture of the washer between the images of Polluce because it is not present in any of those of Castore and it's not mentioned in the equipment of the apartment.
Sorry the clarification but I like to show the apartments that rent for what they are so that guests know as precisely as possible what will and will not remain unpleasantly surprised when they arrive.

I'm a great walker, and everything from the Coliseum and aventine to the Villa Giulia ( my Outer Limit) was within reach. I slept like the proverbial log in the bed, was amused/delighted by the standard lamp in the sitting-room area, and though I produced only breakfast and cups of coffee and tea from the kitchen, could have easily done meals-- there is a handy Spar alimentari around the corner part way to the Feltrinelli book store
I'm already saving up for a visit to Rome in 2014, and would be delighted to return to this very comfortable flat.

I would have given Giacamo's flat a five if we'd had a laundry and more comfortable bedding (thicker mattress and pillows).
The view from the apartment, over the rooftops of room, was lovely, especially at twilight as the moon was rising. Made for a great photo.
We'd had a gorgeous flat lined up in the Spanish Steps on which we were gazumped by a better offer (not good) but the website we used was helpful in recommending alternatives. So, disappointed as we were, after our stay in this excellently located flat, we felt we'd had a better time here(Pantheon) in Rome than we perhaps would have in the original location. It was more like the suburb in which we live in Sydney, with lots of good (not great) food places. 10 minutes to the Pantheon and 15 to the Trevi. Del Palma, best gelati.
Kitchen was well-appointed, and with staples such as flour, pepper, salt, oil and vinegar, which wasn't available in the villa in which we stayed in Panzano (not happy there). Good glassware and crockery.
Concierge on site, somewhere, was very courteous, helpful and friendly.
If we were in Rome again, we would have no hesitation in checking availability of this apartment. In fact, writing this review, has reminded me of what a lovely time we had.
Our host, Giacomo, was also helpful in his suggestions of places to eat and visit. Hope we can see you again in the not too distant future, Giacomo!

Great romantic week away, lovely to be in such a busy location but high up above all the noise.
Lovely cosy apartment, well-equipped for cooking and relaxing.
Good transport links, easy to get to by bus, and easy to walk or catch the tram to all of the sights.
Very straightforward to check in, just met the owner at the apartment, and lots of useful recommendations for tourism and restaurants was provided in advance too.

Our family of three was very comfortable in this apartment spending a wonderful week at the end of august 2012. Exceptional location for easy walking to all great visitors places in Rome. Most of the major services such as Supermarket, Pharmacy and Public Transportation are around. Giacomo, the owner, was friendly and helpful while providing kind and professional attention.
The apartment itself was not big, but very functional and suited our needs perfectly. The kitchen was well equipped even though the electrical kettle didn't work. All the utensils in the kitchen were in excellent condition and looked brand new. The air condition in the living room worked perfectly. We didn't use much the satellite TV as it appeared number of English speaking channels was pretty limited, but since we spent a lot of our time outside the apartment this wasn't important.
Our stay was great and we would recommend this apartment without hesitation to our friends and family.

Our family of four loved this apartment. Great location for easy walking access to all kids of great spots in Rome; we loved swinging by the Pantheon on the way home since it was so close. Giacomo was friendly and helpful and super flexible when we hit a snag in our departure schedule.

My wife and I spent five nights in Rome on our honeymoon trip. We wanted to stay at an apartment because we wanted to experience how a local person lives in Rome. Our goal was to find a nice, cosy, comfortable and well located apartment situated near to the main points of interest of the City but also in a quiet, interesting and safe place. In addition, we wanted to have other services around such as Supermarket, Pharmacy, Laundry Service and Public Transportation. Last but not least, we wanted the apartment to be reasonably priced. Certainly, It was a real challenge trying to find all this features together in one place. But we did it. We found the perfect place to stay in Rome: Castore apartment at the Palazzo Montemarte.
Since the first e-mail we exchange with the owner until the moment of our departure, Giacomo, the owner, provided a kind and professional attention and made us feel like we were visiting a friend. Before actually arriving in Rome, He made the rental transaction procedure secure and easy. He welcomed us upon our arrival and gave us a brief introduction to the City and the place.
The apartment itself is lovely, excellently equiped and decorated with very good style and taste. All the appliances were brand new. All the utensils in the kitchen as well. The air conditioning worked perfectly. Every room of the apartment was immaculate clean. The satellite TV in the room and the living room worked perfectly giving us the chance to watch the local news after a long day of walking.
The bathroom was perfect with bathtub and shower. My wife loved to be able to use the attached hair dryer.
Our overall experience of visiting Rome has been memorable and, at a great extent, thanks to our stay at Castore apartment which we felt it was like having our own home.
We would recommend it without hesitation to our friends and family and we would stay at the apartment again should we return to Rome.

This lovely apartment really is perfectly located, with rooftop views and balcony. Opposite the Gesu church, it is close to the bus/tram/taxi interchange at Largo di argentina (but still quiet at night), a few minutes walk from Campo di Fiore for fresh fruit and veggies, with two supermarkets close by. We walked everywhere from here. The apartment is at the top of a palazzo built over important Roman ruins (isn't everything here!) - see the marvellous Crypta Balbi museum over the back for details. The decor is classy without being ostentatious, and the space ideal for two. The sofa bed is large and very comfortable. Kitchen is small but adequate for full self catering. The host Giacomo was very helpful, both with the remote booking from australia and arrival orientation. We didn't want to leave and would gladly return.

The location is perfect. You can walk to all major tourist attractions for less than 15 minutes. With two little kids, we could come back for a break during the hot summer days, and enjoy much less crowded Rome during the night. There are many quite and nice streets and plazas right across the street which are lined with restaurants and charming small stores.
The room is well furitured and equipped. The beds were very comfortable, and TV (with many English channels) and Wifi kept us connected. Owner recommended restaurants, bakery and ice cream shops. Some of them are local hangouts, and they were amazing.
We enjoyed the stay a lot, and will recommend to our friends.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was big enough for our family with 2 small children and it was an added benefit to have a bathtub. The location was great and although there is a lift, there is still a flight of stairs to reach the apartment Overall, we though it was a great apartment and perfect for our needs. Check-in & internet access were both simple. Kitchen was well-stocked. Would definitely recommend!

Insomma, siamo stati veramente bene e torneremo quanto prima.
