Additional Location Information
Neighborhood is a typical residential/business/shopping mix. Everything you need is at 5-minute walking distance: shops, supermarkets, public transport (subway, buses, taxis), fast-food, restaurants, night-life, police station, hospital/first-aid, travel agencies, parks and tourist attractions as the Cathedral of Saint Paul Outside the Walls (San Paolo Fuori le Mura). Close by you can walk through the Garbatella, tranquil quarter known for its design borrowed from the Garden city movement, built in the 1920s in Rococo style, to the Catacombs and Via Appia Antica. For the other touristic hotspots you'll use the San Paolo Basilica metro station to move around. That same metro line B connects directly to the 3 most important National Railway stations (Ostiense, Termini and Tiburtina) from where one can organize daily excursions out of the city: use Ostiense to move by train to the West and Tiburtina to move by bus everywhere (all long-distance buses) and by train to the North. Line B connects also to the Eur Fermi bus terminal (buses to the South). From San Paolo station another metro line brings you to the beach.
How to reach Carlo+:
Wherever you come from and whatever public transport you use, the place you have to get out and in is the subway station of "S. Paolo Basilica" (line B), 7-minute walking distance to the apartment. Walk out on the side of Via Gaspare Gozzi, follow uphill Viale Giustiniano Imperatore; less then 100 m and you are in Largo Leonardo da Vinci; turn left on Viale Leonardo da Vinci; in about 200 m you find No. 75; enter the gate and walk straight on along the central path until the last door on the right (palazzina 5, scala A); then ring the bell of apartment 1 "Castellani".
Fiumicino Airport "Leonardo da Vinci": Get to the train station. Two options (both with about the same travelling time): 1) direct train to Termini (more expensive) where you can switch from surface to underground ("metropolitana") line B, direction "Laurentina"; get out in the station "Basilica S. Paolo" 2) Stop train to the Station "Ostiense" (line to Fara Sabina; cheaper). When there follow the sign to the subway "metropolitana" station of "Piramide" and take the train direction "Laurentina"; just two stops and you get out in the station "Basilica S. Paolo".
Ciampino Airport "G. B. Pastine": Take an ATRAL bus to:
a) Station "Termini", where you can switch from surface to underground ("metropolitana") line B, direction "Laurentina"; get out in the station "Basilica S. Paolo" ; or to
b) the railway station of Ciampino where there are trains to Termini; or to
c) the subway station "Anagnina", line A, from where you take the train to Termini and switch to line B.

By train: All trains to Rome meet line B of the subway ("metropolitana") at at least one switch station (Tiburtina, Termini, Ostiense-Piramide). Take then a train direction "Laurentina" until the station "Basilica S. Paolo".
By bus: All long-distance buses have their terminal in Tiburtina (bus, train and subway station). Walk dawn to the subway station and take a train direction "Laurentina" until the station "Basilica S. Paolo".
By car: Coming to Rome from any direction you meet the Outer Ring (Grande Raccordo Anulare - GRA).
If you drive the GRA clockwise (Rome at your right) enter Rome by the Ardeatina and keep driving straight on until you can (Piazza dei Navigatori); there is traffic light on via Cristoforo Colombo: turn left on the side lane and then turn right (via Giovanni Genocchi); go straight; roundabout; straight (via Alessandra Macinghi Strozzi); another roundabout in Piazza delle Sette Chiese; go on straight downhill (Via Giovannipoli); you meet Viale Leonardo da Vinci when you see a little hill in front of you and cannot go forward; park the car: No. 75 is just on that cross.
If you drive the GRA anti-clockwise (Rome at your left) or come from Fiumicino-Civitavecchia highway, enter Rome by such highway. Go on until you leave the Hotel Sheraton at your left, then turn right and take the Via Cristoforo Colombo towards the center of town "Centro-S.Giovanni"; go on about 300 m keeping on the side-lane; then turn left on Via Guglielmo Marconi. At the 3rd traffic light turn right on Via Valco di S. Paolo; at its 1st traffic-light turn left on Via Ostiense. Just before the 1st traffic-light turn right on Viale Giustiniano Imperatore; at the 1st traffic-light turn left on Viale Leonardo da Vinci; a couple of hundred metres and you find No. 75 at your right.
Parking is free in the streets. 24-hour private guarded parking ask around 10 €/day.
