Located between the Spanish Steps and Via Veneto areas this is a stately area with many sidewalk cafes, restaurants and easy walking distance to many of the sites. Most convenient is the Metro (subway entrance) at the top of the Via Veneto. The Metro will whisk you off to places such as the Coliseum, the Vatican and the train station.
It is 10 minute walk to the Spanish Steps, which is your gateway to fashion shopping near Via del Corso and many excellent restaurants. Beyond are the Trevi fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and the Campo dei Fiori areas.
The Borghese Gardens, one of Rome's largest public parks, is just three blocks away so if you want to stroll, jog, or bicycle, it is very convenient. And if you have children, this is a great place to take them. Two of Rome's most famous museums, the Villa Borghese and Villa Giulia, are just a few minutes walk from the apartment.
Stroll down the Via Veneto past myriad cafes, to Piazza Barberini and its Triton fountain.
We enjoy staying in this area since the 'livin is easy': subway nearby, two good supermarkets within a 5-minute walk, several good cafes for our morning cappuccino, handy newsagent of buying bus tickets, several favorite restaurants, the always beautiful walk along the Via Veneto down to Piazza Barberini, long strolls through the Borghese Gardens, and several 5-star hotels in the area so taxis are readily available. Just the right balance of city life, amenities, good food and park access.
The Lombardia apartment is located in a stately 18th century building. Massive wooden doors lead into to the building lobby which connects two banks of buildings via a corridor. The Lombardia apartment is in the back building, accessed through the second elevator.
The apartment has been freshly updated with modern amenities, comfortable, tasteful decor. A small entry greets you with hooks for your coat. To the left is the living room with queen size sofa bed, two armchairs and a desk. Step up to the dining area which has a glass door opening out to the service porch with the laundry facilities are located. To the right of the dining room is the kitchen.
To the opposite side of the entry area are the two bedrooms. The twin bedded room is to the right with two twins beds. The bathroom is opposite, just across the hall. Straight ahead is the master bedroom and bathroom. The layout works well since the master bedroom has a small private hallway which can be closed off for privacy to access the master bathroom. Both bedrooms have ample closet space.
Each of the windows in the apartment, living room, dining room, both bedrooms overlook internal courtyards, the views are not noteworthy, but this position in the building is a major bonus since the noise of the busy streets of Rome will not reach you here. This comfortable, pleasant and well maintained apartment is a very pleasant retreat from the bustling city center....Read more

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Lombardia apartment. The beds were very comfortable and we had all of the amenities we needed. There were plenty of restaurants, cafes and grocery stores nearby. It was very close to the Via Veneto with pretty boutiques. The location of the apartment is about a 10 minute walk from the top of the Spanish steps and we went up and down those steps daily. It allows you an extra gelato with no fear of gaining any weight. Rene our greeter gave us a great tip to visit the Palazzo Valentini, a three dimensional archeological site which was a highlight of our trip and one not even mentioned in most guidebooks. Read more

The apartment was fantastic.
Dealing with Italy Perfect made finding the perfect apartment for us so easy. The
apartment was fantastic. Rene, the greeter, was very informative and helpful. Great
location with a restaurant next door that served an "American style" breakfast.
Numerous restaurants in the neighborhood and a grocery store nearby. I would
recommended Italy Perfect to anyone going to Italy. Read more

The Lombardia apartment was wonderful! The furnishings and appointments were as pictured on the website. The Lombardia apartment provides a wonderful central location for many of the magnificent sites of Rome, like Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, etc., we even found that walking to the Coliseum and or Vatican City was not that difficult. Transportation around the city by bus, subway or taxi is pretty easy and reasonable. Shopping in the area was truly enjoyable with so many little shops and cafes along the side streets and higher end stores located along Via Vittorio Veneto. Just outside the apartment is a wonderful little restaurant with great food, reasonable prices and a staff that truly appreciates your business. If you're interested in cooking, there is a local market only a few blocks away with a nice variety of meats, vegetables, cheese and wine. If you're thinking of visiting Rome, we highly recommend Italy Perfect and the Lombardia apartment.

The apartment was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The beds were wonderful! Mostly it was very quiet and very unusual for Rome. Nice family room and dining room. The lift and one level were crucial for my older parents. The location was very upscale and safe. Il Fiammifero Strano, right below the apartment, became our living room. Wonderful food and staff. Get cabs by Harry's Bar on via Veneto. I would recommend ItalyPerfect to a friend! Read more

Just completed our week in Rome at the Lombardia apartment. Rene was great. Also used Stefano for airport transfers which worked out very well. The apartment was wonderful... super convenient and well equiped. Water pressure not great in one bathroom and little hot water in the guest shower. Laudery, hair dryer and safe were very much appreciated. We really enjoyed Peppone's right around the corner. Great food and more reasonably priced than similar restuarants on Via Veneto. Read more

The Lombardia apartment we rented in Rome was marvelous. It was clean, nicely furnished and the best apartment we rented while on our 6 week vacation in Europe. It was large and had plenty of room for our whole family. Being in Europe most places are small, but the Lombardia was perfect. Air conditioning was the best and the building was safe and was in a wonderful neighborhood. We didn't want to leave. One bonus was the lift. After climbing steps all day, it was a treat to come home and have the lift take you up the stairs. There is also a restaurant around the corner that was fantastic. They served bruschetta just for being there and my boys loved it. I highly recommend this apartment to anyone who is looking for a quiet, safe, beautiful place to stay while in Rome. Thank you Lisa- we really loved it.

I booked the Lombadia apartment for 5 day in May and Pat Bryne from Italy Perfect was extremely helpful in arranging it for my family of 4 including providing helpful hints & local contacts for transportation We used Stephano Limousine to pick us up from the airport. The driver contact Renee our greeter once we were picked up at the airport and he was waiting at the apartment to show us all the details about the apartment. The apartment was at a very good location a few blocks from Spanish Steps and the Metro. We loved the apartment. It was clean and confortable for our 5 day stay. It also had wifi internet which was good for us to surf the internet and book some of our Rome activities or call back to USa with Skype. We managed to pick up some groceries from the nearby supermarket for breakfast. There's also some good restaurants downstairs and in the neighborhood. Most of the major attraction (Colloseum, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Pantheon,.., etc) are within walkable distance. Rome is a city that you can walk and enjoy the different neighborhoods. We also took to Metro to several places when we got tired of walking. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Lombardia apartment and would stay there again the next time we visit Rome.
