Description

This beautiful, light, modern house, 'Lou Messugo', is our family home which we rent out for a few weeks every year. It comprises the main house with a 60m2 living space and open plan kitchen-diner, 2 double bedrooms and a twin bedroom and a fully self-contained, independent apartment which sleeps up to 4 people (which we rent out for the rest of the year as a holiday let, see my other listing).

There are 3 bathrooms and toilets (one en-suite from the master bedroom). The house is newly decorated throughout with a fresh modern look. It is south-facing, sunny & light and has 2 separate terraces equipped with sun loungers, outdoor furniture for 10 and 2 BBQs, perfect for relaxed al fresco dining and lazy summer lunches. The large child-friendly garden has a trampoline, boules pitch, ping-pong table and a fully fenced pool. Both the main house and the apartment are equipped with satellite TV, DVD players, HiFi, USB ports and free WiFi.

The main kitchen is modern and of the highest quality. It comes fully equipped with all cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, a large fridge, dishwasher, microwave, induction hob and fan oven. Being keen cooks ourselves there are many extra items available (such as blenders, food processors etc) to cook up a provençal feast. The apartment kitchen is small but practical with everything you need provided too. There is a large laundry room with washer and dryer and storage space for bikes and other bulky equipment.

The house is located in a quiet residential area within walking distance of the centre of a small town with shops, restaurants, banks, etc. We have a large garden (2000m2) planted with Mediterranean plants, lots of lavender, olives, majestic 30m tall pines and oaks - a true green oasis.

On site, as well as the POOL, we have a range of facilities including a large trampoline, pétanque pitch, table tennis, badminton & croquet. Our bicycles (varying sizes incl baby seat) are available for your use but the main attraction is the pool with sun-loungers and inflatables provided. To make your holiday perfectly relaxing there is also a double hammock for snoozing in after a long lunch!

To make life easy for families we can provide all necessary equipment for travelling with babies/toddlers such as a travel cot, high chair, booster seat, plastic plates/cutlery/cups, changing mat and a good selection of toys/books/DVDs. We know just how much paraphernalia the smallest members of the family come with as we've been there!

Lou Messugo is ideally located between mountains and sea, only 20-30 mins to beautiful beaches and the buzzing towns of Cannes & Nice, 50 mins to Monaco and an hour to Italy as an added bonus! This area really does offer something for everyone: stunning scenery, adventure sports, beaches, shopping, hiking, mountain biking, golf, fabulous food, gorgeous medieval hill villages, art galleries, provençal markets and much much more. The village is on the main bus route from Nice to Grasse (the world centre of the perfume industry) and the stop is 5 mins walk away but to get the most out of this fabulous area we strongly suggest you have your own vehicle. There is onsite secure parking for 3 cars. We are 25 mins drive from Nice International airport which is served by BA, Easyjet, Air France, Delta, KLM, Emirates and many more national and budget airlines.

Our house is perfect for 2 families holidaying together or one large family with several generations (grandparents in the apartment for example).

Getting around

We highly recommend having a car to make the most of this beautiful and varied area, though it is possible to holiday at Lou Messugo using public transport and feet! (It's just that you won't see nearly as much!)

Interaction with guest

We are nearly always around to welcome our guests on arrival and check out at the end of the stay. If we are not nearby we appoint a manager to deal with all enquiries and any issues that may arise but we are always available by email for advice and recommendations.
