Description from the manager
***Featured as one of The London Times' "Top 50 villas in the Caribbean" for 2014***If you’re seeking a Caribbean beach vacation unlike anything you've ever experienced before, come escape to “Sun Cloud,” a luxury Grand Cayman vacation rental house ideally situated on the island’s picturesque North Side in Rum Point.
With 5 bedrooms, 5 full bathrooms, and enough sleeping accommodations for up to 10 guests, this grandiose residence is the perfect setting for your upcoming family vacation or greatly-anticipated rejuvenating retreat. From the moment you first arrive, this home makes a statement! You’ll find its interior quite modern with a "barefoot luxury" look and feel, tastefully decorated throughout with comfortable furniture and a variety of other amenities, as well as utmost attention to detail in decor and design to help create an aesthetically pleasing and truly relaxing vacation environment for your island getaway. All the amenities you need to be as comfortable as possible during your stay are here, including wireless internet access, in-unit laundry machines for your convenience, and a fully equipped kitchen, complete with all the necessary cooking appliances. Unbelievable views of the sparkling blue ocean are visible from every room, and you’ll be able to enjoy the calm ocean breeze and swaying palm trees in complete peace and tranquility, as this property offers total privacy. Look forward to spending leisurely afternoons soaking up the balmy Caribbean sun by the home’s private outdoor swimming pool, where you can enjoy swimming with the kids or simply relax with a loved one. You could easily spend an entire day enjoying the pool or the man-made beach located directly in front of the house, accessible via private ocean access on the premises.
One of this home’s most exciting features is its phenomenal waterfront location. You and your travel companions can easily take advantage of world-class snorkeling and diving literally right in front of the house, which means no boat rides - simply slip into your gear and down into the dazzling underwater world below! About 100 yards in front is an incredible reef for snorkeling. Please note that the water entrance to the property’s private ocean access varies in depth and rockiness depending on the season and tides. It’s best for children at low tide, when the area is soft and sandy. High tide and storms can often bring rocks into shore, so ocean shoes are highly recommended!
Want to venture a little further out to sea or explore other attractions in the area? Why not go by boat? Renting a boat is a great way to experience the best of Grand Cayman, including the beautiful 7 mile beach, which can be reached in an easy 10-15 minute boat ride from the house. The owner of this property can help arrange boat rentals during your stay - please inquire for more details!A Note from the Owner...Thank you for considering my home as you plan your next great Caribbean getaway. If you're looking for a private and secluded property in a quiet neighborhood on the region's safest and most stable island where you can truly "get away," this home may be perfect for you. Here, you can sit outside by the pool and work while watching the sun change the azure blue colors of the ocean in front of you, walk down the steps into the ocean for some snorkeling, head over to the Ritz for an afternoon at the spa, and then enjoy dinner under the stars, or a memorable night out at one of the area's many high-end restaurants. There's always a constant, steady breeze. Needless to say, this place is a gem.I personally take great pride in this home. It is a home I plan to live in full-time once my kids are out of school. In the meantime, my goal with all of our guests is to provide the most relaxing and enjoyable experience possible. Our second trip to the island, however this property made it a remarkable stay. A perfect location, tranquil, close to a small store, 4 minutes drive to Rum point and Cayman Kai. The house is beautiful, a view from every room. We loved the open kitchen, dining area and the view was priceless. We traveled with a party of 6 ( 2 adults, 2 -25 year olds and 2- 19 year olds). Everyone loved the pool, ocean, bedrooms, individual bathrooms and of course the view. We didn't use the hot tub just too hot outside this time of year. Sunsets and sunrises can't be beat. Karen and Ida (property manager and the lovely woman who came and cleaned up several times) were prompt, polite and we became fast friends. We renewed our wedding vows on the sand overlooking the ocean and Karen got us connected with Pastor King to preside. What a beautiful man and and a kind gesture to share this moment with our family.
Minor things- truly these are minor-we couldn't figure out how to change the ceiling fan speed in the master bedroom. We would recommend buying 2-3 chaise lounges as 4 of them have seen their day. We could use 3 of the 4 so they weren't unusable.
There's a natural barrier reef so the water is pretty shallow, snorkeling is pretty good, would recommend doing a half day boat rental with Moore Marine as they will take you to deeper waters with a wide variety of fish. CJ and Willis were great. We did snorkel every day and loved it.
I would definitely stay here again- actually I never wanted to leave. I wish I could buy this property from David. David thank you for sharing this beautiful, perfect place with us. Read more

I've stayed at Sun Cloud multiple times in the past few years and everything about it keeps me coming back. Even as a San Diego resident with regular access to the beach, I am always excited for my trips to Cayman. The home is great. Right on some of the most beautiful water in the world. And its not just beautiful, but perfect for swimming, snorkeling or paddle boarding literally steps from your door. The location is ideal for those looking for a low key vacation. The home is both gorgeous and comfortable, and has everything my family needs to enjoy our precious vacation time. George Town is far enough away to make you want to stay home and close enough to go for a night out or a day trip. The local rum point spots are extremely friendly and good for an evening of food and cocktails. Looking forward to my upcoming visit!

I spent two weeks in Grand Caymen on my honeymoon... The first at the ritz and the second at this remarkable property fit for royalty. I'll start by saying the house is insane with a private pool and hot tub. The inside of the house is extremely comfortable with all the comforts of home. The land the house sits on is very secluded and views of the ocean are ridiculous. My wife and I started everyday with morning yoga overlooking the ocean. We finished every night with a romantic hot tub looking at the stars. One of my favorite things about this house is I could swim out to the reef which took no more then 5 minutes and have insane snorkeling. There was plenty of other things to do in the area... Jet skiing and beach within a 5 minute drive. We had a car and driving into town when we wanted to go out to dinner was no problem. The owner was very knowledgable about the island and pointed us to all the best local restaurants. This is by far the most beautiful part of the island and would recommend this home for a romantic getaway or a family vacation. I can't wait to get back!!! Read more

My family of 4 stayed here in June 2012. The residence was amazing. Very clean, well appointed. The location is incredibly peaceful and well off the beaten path, yet close enough to all other stops on the island. The water out back was incredibly clear for snorkeling. The sunsets were fantastic. David and Karen were very accommodating. We will certainly recommend this private residence to our friends and family for the vacation of a lifetime. Read more

I've been lucky enough to visit Grand Cayman many times and have loved staying at Sun Cloud! Let's start with the house - the right mix of comfort and luxury, and enough room to sleep everyone I'd want to travel with. And those views, my g-d, those views! From almost every room in the house, you are overlooking a beautiful pool and then ocean, ocean and more ocean. You have to go out of your way and crane your neck to see any nearby houses. The house is about 5 minutes away from 2 of my favorite places on the Island - Kai Bo, a low-key, island beach resort area with a sandy restaurant/bar that is hard to beat; and Rum Point, a bit bigger and livelier for more festive outings. I'm not much of a 7-Mile Beach girl, but while you feel like you're a world away from that craziness at the house, you're actually just a short drive away. The Sun Cloud owner is so easy to work with, too. He bought the house for his family, and you can tell he has put a lot of effort into making sure the house is perfect and well maintained. Enjoy your stay at Sun Cloud!

David's house is pristine, elegantly decorated and incredibly spacious with every amenity you can think of. But never mind the interior... floor to ceiling window views of the crystal clear blue Cayman water right outside your back door are really all that you need. There are a couple of great dinner/drinks/lunch spots just a short walk or drive down the road. David is helpful and easy-going... he provided detailed advice about his favorite local haunts and the greater island as well.
