Additional Location Information

Villa is located by the Baltic sea. Area is forestry so it is ideal for hiking and for enjoying nature.

The unique archipelago off the Pyhtää coastline offers excellent landing and camping sites for those travelling by boat. The astonishing Kaunissaari island can be reached by a scheduled boat service from the village of Pyhtää and from the Sapokka Water Garden in Kotka. When departing from Pyhtää, the boat first travels by the Kymijoki river through the manually operated dam and locks at Struka. The outer islands of Pyhtää form part of the Eastern Gulf of Finland National Park.

Skitunäs villa is only about 30 kilometres from Kotka city. Kotka is the second largest city in Kymenlaakso County. It is located on the coast of the Baltic Sea, the Gulf of Finland, at the estuary of Kymi river. Kotka is known by its port, industry and maritime festivals. Kotka is also known as a multifaceted city of educational institutions and culture.

Kotka is located 130 km east from Helsinki and 290 km west from St. Petersburg; the highway no 18 runs through Kotka. In the city there are two centres, Kotkansaari (the Isle of Kotka) and Karhula. The characteristics of Kotka are based on the sea and Kymi river.
