A lovely, semi-detached cottage, attached to the owners' 17th century Lakeland farmhouse, in Rusland, six miles from Hawkshead, with one double bedroom sleeping two people.The Shippen is a charming, upside down cottage, attached to the owners' 17th century, traditional Lakeland farmhouse in Rusland, six miles from Hawkshead. On the ground floor, the cottage has one bedroom with a king-size double bed, and a bathroom. There is an open plan living area up on the first floor, with a kitchen, a dining area and a sitting are with a woodburning stove. The courtyard outside is enclosed with furniture and pretty flowers and plants, and there is off road parking for two cars. With lots of walking and cycling opportunities nearby, The Shippen is a wonderful, romantic base for couples exploring the Lake District National Park.
Amenities: Oil central heating with woodburning stove. Gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge, TV with FreeSat, DVD, Wifi. Fuel, power and starter pack for stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off road parking for 2 cars. Lockable bike storage. Enclosed courtyard with furniture. One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Please note: this property is not suitable for people with limited mobility or children. Shop and pub 3 miles. Note: Spiral staircase and internal steps. Note: Interconnecting door to owners house in living room, which is kept locked at all times. Please Note - Property only accepts a minimum of 3 night bookings.
Region: Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.
Town: Crosslands is a small hamlet in the Rusland Valley, just a couple of miles from the Grizedale Visitor Centre and six miles from the shores of Lake Windermere in the Lake District National Park. There is superb walking, cycling and mountain biking available in the area, and most trails will lead to the beautiful Grizedale Forest.
