Newly updated and repainted as of June 2013. With the advantages of both a quiet beach retreat and a busy family-oriented resort, our condo at Colony Reef 3404 will delight you. From its ocean views to its comfortable bedrooms, it's the ideal setting for your next St. Augustine Beach vacation! The Colony Reef complex has an endless array of activities, too, including two pools (one indoors and heated, the other oceanfront)! <br/><br/>You can sit on our super-spacious balcony and gaze at the Atlantic Ocean, a drink in your hand, and feel the cares of the real world melt away. Ours is a full balcony, with a table and chairs overlooking the grounds of the Colony Reef complex and beyond it, the pure blue ocean. That zesty sea breeze is always blowing, and the low rumble of the waves is a constant undercurrent. <br/><br/>The ocean is visible from the master bedroom as well. You will love this room, not only for the king-sized bed (heaven!) but also for the sliding-glass doors that lead you out onto the balcony at moonlight. And if you can wake up early one morning, the sunrise is an amazing sight!<br/><br/>The living room is spacious and airy, with two walls of windows (again, that view!), plenty of comfortable seating, and a new 32" HDTV with HBO. It's a great place to assemble the whole gang to watch a movie or game, or just to nap in the middle of the day, because you're on vacation and you can. There's room for everyone and their stuff here!<br/><br/>The dining area is just beyond the living room, with a big friendly table for 6 within easy reach of the serving counter in the kitchen. With everything so open, the cook doesn't get isolated from the action when it's time to fix dinner. And you'll love our kitchen, even if all you use it for is drinks and takeout. It's fully stocked with major and minor appliances, cookware, dishes, and every utensil you could need. Go to the farthest point and you'll even find a laundry room tucked away, with a full-sized washer and dryer just waiting for you. Everything's at hand here, spotlessly clean, and ready for use.<br/><br/>In addition to the master bedroom, there are 2 other bedrooms at Colony Reef 3404. One is a large room with two twin beds, a TV, and plenty of dresser and floor space. The other is what we call the crow's nest, with 2 stationary twin beds in a snug little pouch of a room. The kids will find this space adorable!<br/><br/>If you need more sleeping space, the couch in the living room converts to a sleeper for 2. This is actually a prime spot, because if you leave the drapes open, you'll have a front-row seat for the sunrise over the ocean!<br/><br/>At Colony Reef 3404, all linens, pillows, blankets, and towels are provided, clean and fresh. We also have wireless Internet, so feel free to bring your laptop. The dining table has been known to become a workstation!<br/><br/>Our 2 bathrooms are fully appointed, the master has a walk in shower, the 2nd bath has a tub with have plenty of storage space.<br/><br/>As appealing as the inside of the condo is, the location is even better. Take the elevator down from the third floor and you're just steps from the club's private walkway to the beach. This wooden walkway carries you through the dunes in a zigzag fashion, so you can enjoy the natural beauty of the vegetation before reaching the clean white sand for a day of fun.<br/><br/>Our beach is located between St. Augustine Beach and Crescent Beach, so it's not as crowded as those well-traveled destinations. The sands are wide and inviting, the surf's always up, and the atmosphere is family-friendly. Surf, boogie-board, fish, sunbathe, beachcomb, or simply stroll along this beach! <br/><br/>The Colony Reef complex has an endless array of activities, too, including two pools (one indoors and heated, the other oceanfront), tennis and racquetball courts, a playground, sauna, hot tub, fitness center -- you name it! And you're only a few minutes from historic St. Augustine.
Additional amenities include: biking, boating, beach, fishing, washer / dryer.

We were looking forward to a nice, quiet family vacation in Florida. That's not what we had. The noise at the complex went on until well after 2am and started up early in the morning. It just must be the set up of the complex but noisy is the best way to describe the place. It is a good place to stay if your kids are loud and obnoxious because not a single person will quiet them down. I wouldn't return here but would use the managment company.

We really enjoyed our week's stay at Colony Reef. Being on the beach in a nice, clean location really made our vacation. The beach walkway, pool area, and common areas were very clean and well kept. Although we dined out several times, the kitchen and dining area were ideal for easy meals - seafood store and supermarkets are close too. Furnishings were comfortable with a fun beach look. Good aC too. Very nice to enjoy sunrise on the balcony with a cup of coffee every morning. Saw lots of wildlife there too: porpoises, tortoises, rabbits, and many birds. Very easy way to enjoy a week at the beach.

The property is well situated on the beach, has a great view, is functional and makes most use of its space. The maintenance is very conscientious. But it can't overcome the age of the unit. Needs new bathrooms, and a general overhaul. And there's not enough hot water to fill the "hot" tub.

It was mostly great. We had some issues with some things, the stool was broken in the hallway, the washer would not empty the water on the last night, the vaccuum cleaners did not clean, and the front storm door screens and glass fell out.

This unit was great. It was perfect for our family. The view, location, and complex amenities made for a great vacation. This was the first Florida beach vacation we had ever taken, and I know everyone in my family would love to return to St augustine Beach again.

It was an overall nice place to stay. We were given the wrong address, had to call to get the right address, needless to say, we were very unhappy travelers after traveling 10 hours. Then once we get to the right address, no one had given us the code for the front gate, took us another 20 minutes before someone felt sorry enough for us to let us in. The lady at the check in desk was very nice, and very helpful. The room was very nice. The only fault to the room was that there wasn't enough towells, and only one person could take a shower at a time because there wasn't enough hot water. There was nine of us, so that didn't go over well. The property has a indoor pool, and gym, but it was closed most of the time we were there.

The unit was clean, great location and had everything we needed. The only downside to this property was that there were too many knicknacks everywhere. We couldn't even put our groceries down on the counter or the table for so much stuff sitting around. The owner needs to "simplify". It just had too much going on in every single room.

We had a great time! Good location, very clean condo. Only small items were that we were not provided with a car hangtag or gate access key in our lock box. Security ended up providing us with the car hangtag and a code to get through the gate. Only other minor issue is that the Colony Reef Wifi was often unavailable. However, other than those minor issues we loved the location, beach and visiting St. Augustine!
