Description

We have tried to give our apartment a feel of luxury so you can enjoy relaxing as well the the thrill of the mountains. If you fancy a bath, soft white towel and cosy bed after a day of exertion, this it the property for you. With all the mod cons of a luxury home you won't need to go out, but if you fancy it, the delights of the beautiful St Gervais are on the door step.

On the first floor the living space is open plan with a well-equipped, modern kitchen, dining area and two comfortable sofas with flat screen satellite TV and DVD player. There is unlimited free wi-fi and free calls to the UK and most european countries from the phone in the apartment. The sitting room has French windows that open out onto to a south facing, double balcony with great views of the town and the ski slopes. In addition on the first floor there is a ski locker, toilet, large cloakroom and washer dryer.

Upstairs, on the second floor are two bedrooms, a bathroom with bath/shower and a separate toilet. The bedrooms consist of a large double with a kingsize bed and a South facing balcony, and a twin room with an adult size bunk bed with a North facing balcony which looks across to the chateau. On the top floor is a twin bedroom en-suite, which can also be converted into a kingsize double on request. All the bedrooms have large built-in wardrobes.

We brought the apartment for its year round appeal. The area has a wide selection of activities throughout the year as weel as the excellent skiing in the winter. Nestled on the western flank of Mont Blanc half way between Chamonix and Megève, Saint Gervais occupies a very privileged position. From here you have access not only to the immediate slopes, but also to the entire Evasion Mont Blanc area, 420 km of pistes and the resort of Megeve, where the beautiful French ski. If that isn't enough to entice you, Saint Gervais itself has some good nursery slopes near the village, while intermediates can explore the large number of blues and reds, and the often-overlooked blacks. There is also an excellent snowpark and half pipe on hand here.

The summer offers excellent on and off road cycling with some classic cols for the brave. On the side of Mont Blanc it offers access to climbing throughout the year and routes up the mountain itself. There is also white water rafting, paragliding, guided walks and some of the most spectacular scenery in the Alps.

Getting around

• The winter ski bus also runs in the summer as a free shuttle around St Gervais Les Bains. • For access to the gondola and skiing the best bus stop to get on at is the ‘Maison Saint Gervais’, a short 2 minute walk from the apartment. On your return journey catch the bus to the same location. • Local SAT bus service runs throughout the area. The buses in St Gervais run to Megeve, Les Contemines, Le Fayet and Sallanches. You can change to access the remainder of the area. The SAT also offers excursions for individuals and groups.

Interaction with guest

There is a property manager in resort. We like to leave everything ready for you and let you get on with your holiday, but if you need support, the property manager is on call to come round.

This is a lovely apartment in a good location within St Gervais. We stayed as a group of four for a weeks skiing. The apartment is spacious enough that you are not on top of one another whilst the open plan layout makes a good area for socialising and chatting about the day's events. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms a good size. With the boulangerie just a minute's walk away and a useful supermarket just up the street it is very easy to get everything you require. Access to skiing was very easy with a regular bus service taking approx 10mins. We didn't get into the town very much as the snow was good but this apartment is ideally placed to explore. Overall this was a great place to stay. Spacious but still with that 'cozy' feel that is so important after a day's skiing. The facilities are simple but clean and adequate. I would definitely go again and recommend this to friends.
