Funky-Luxury-Cliffside-Private Cottage - Peaceful

Romantic, secluded, peaceful, private and off the beaten path, but still less than 15 minutes from everything you will need! Come relax, rest and renew your body, mind and spirit in this charming, funky yet luxurious cottage that is tucked into the trees on a hillside 100 feet above the ocean's edge. The “Treehouse” has a large outdoor bathroom and magical shower with complete views of the ocean over swaying palms. Once you've melted into one of the hammock chairs you'll debate whether it's worth getting up to go to the beach at all (even though you can walk 5 minutes down our private road, scramble down the hillside and end up on your own ...Read more

Additional Location Information

Estate Harmony is on the Northeast coast of the island which means we are close to EVERYTHING. The famous Megan's Beach is just 10 minutes away by car, a variety of restaurants in the main town of Red Hook are only 15 minutes away as is the Marina and Ferry terminal to St. John and the British Virgin Islands. Ahhhh.... so many choices! The Tree House sits back in the trees about 100 feet above the ocean. From there all you see are islands in the distance and the beautiful turquoise sea!
Although we always recommend that our guests rent a jeep to get around the island, there are some fun things to do by foot, right from the Tree House!
Some of the trails and adventures to take for fun or exercise when you wake up at Treehouse on the Water are a little tricky but worth it!
The Adventure Trail is marked by a knotted, heavy-duty rope attached to the villa to help you make the decent down the slope to the water which can get pretty steep in places)! A short 10-minute scramble and you are on the rocks, completely away from everything. At the base there is a huge flat rock that the ocean has naturally carved a seat just above the ocean.
To get to 'Boo's Beach' just walk back down the road from the Treehouse and after about 100 yards you come to a dip, with a sign on the left and a culvert on the right. As you go down the little trail by the culvert and you will see red paint marking the way down to a totally private beach. This is another one of those trails not for the lighthearted but well worth it, particularly at low tide on a calm day.
TuTu Beach is a 10 minute walk back down the road from the Treehouse and past the road going up the hill, staying on the same level. Continue around the corner and you will pass “The Pink Pearl” on your right. Just keep walking as the road makes a sharp right. At the bottom of the hill there is a gate marked “Ocean Overlook” and a trail on your left that continues straight down towards the beach. This is more of a rocky and sandy beach and it’s not very good for swimming as there is coral right by the shoreline. However, there is nice sand in several spots and the gigantic rocks are lovely to hang out on and share some wine and cheese at sunset with the waves crashing against the rocks!
Hike Mandahl Point: From Tutu beach keep going the entire length of the beach until you come to the road at the other end of the beach. About 20 yards up you will see another road going up to the right. This takes you all the way to the end of the peninsula that you see from the Treehouse on your left. There are amazing views of all the islands and it’s a wonderful hike. We call it exercise with a view! Continue on around the loop and you will see the Salt Pond on your right where there is an abundance of wildlife. As you continue on you will eventually loop back down to the part of the beach that you need to cross to enter the road to come back to the Tree House or Spirit on the Water.
Which trail are you going to do first? Our dogs will show you the way, if you're interested!
