Cabrite Point Paradise : Oceanfront, Elegant, Pool
Cabrite Villa overlooks the Pillsbury Sound, the passage between St Thomas and St John, Jost Van Dyke and Tortola. From your private deck you have an incredible panoramic view of the crystal clear water of the Caribbean and a dozen islands great and small. As you dream your day away gazing out you will see the most elegant boats float by, while listening to soothing music and the sound of waves crashing on the cliffs. The temperature is a perfect 85-90F cooled by the ever present trade winds.
We are located 10 minutes walk or a couple minutes drive from the Ritz Carlton. The picturesque small harbor of Red Hook is located 3 miles away with many restaurants and entertainment options in addition to the ferry to St John. The best beaches on the East End are only minutes away; the beaches of the Ritz Carlton, Secret Harbor, and Sapphire. The world famous Magens Bay and the St John National Park are within easy reach, giving you an endless opportunity to explore.
This modern Villa is built on one floor, surrounded by a 2 tiered porch of 2300sq FT!! The pool with the outdoor wet bar, grill and a large dining area are located on the first deck. The second level has lounge chairs in addition to a second eating area. Take a SWIM any time of day or at night under the stars.
The living area is also on 2 levels surrounded by 2 full walls of glass. There is no place from where you cannot see the ocean and feel the breeze. Open the glass doors with full screening to and lounge on the comfortable modern furniture. There is a stereo system and 5 CD player with in and outside speakers. (We are working on a music library..bring some copies of yours to share). The second level has the well equipped kitchen with fridge, dishwasher, full size oven and an eating area. In the pantry there is a washer and dryer. The master bedroom has its own bath with a unique and private shower. Lie on the bed and watch the boats in the distance. The room is equipped with TV with DVD player, cable and a Polk isonic with connection for iPod and iphone. The second bedroom has a shared bath, a pillow top bed. No TV for now. There is air conditioning and fans in both bedrooms. For Internet service there is a 1 Meg DSL Modem and a wireless router in the Villa.
We are located in one of the most romantic, secluded, private and at the same time diverse areas of St Thomas. An occasionally paved lane takes you to the house with its own parking area. (See attached map)We recommend you to rent an SUV or jeep but if you wish, our hostess can arrange for your pick up and she can make car arrangements for you too. We can pre-arrange lots of fun things for you to do. There are many activities within a short distance from the Villa to choose from: snorkeling, fishing, diving, kayaking, golfing and parasailing just to name a few. You can charter a boat to go deep sea fishing and or to the BVI or island hopping. You can provide us with a food and drink list prior to your arrival and will have it stocked for you!! You can enjoy a glass of champagne immediately

Was reluctant to write this review, because didn't want other people renting possible time, I might rent again.
It was the most relaxing time,I have ever had in ST.Thomas, the view was breathtaking,as much as I love ST.Thomas,i never wanted to leave Cabrite point, was never in a hurry to do anything or go anywhere , perfect place to experience, what they refer to has island time.I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to get away from the daily grind, lay back and relax and enjoy the view as well as the trade winds ,you won't regret it, my only regret was that we had to leave after 3 weeks , next time will book it for a month

The property is older than the the listing. Photos need to be updated. Outdoor bar area is in drastic need of repair. The bathrm and bedrm doors don't shut completely(there are hook/eye latches). No ventillation in the bathrms - not a good combination. The property was not clean. We bought cleansers & scrubbed the place down, rewashed linens, before unpacking. Upon arrival, the pool (main reason for choosing the property) was filled with brown & green algae. It took 2 days to remedy. Then the aC in the bedrm went out the very 1st night. Called the mgr ourselves who needed to get the aC parts & tech from P. Rico. That took 3 long hot nights to remedy. Coincidently, there are numerous signs around the villa stating how a renter could easily break the aC if not used properly. The owner did not follow up, we followed up with her. She explained how she needed a new compressor. Not even a "sorry" from the owner. We felt that if she knew the aC was dying (hence the signs & the new compressor comment) then why wasn't the issue dealt with proactively before? We are still stumped about that. Same with the pool. It's a main rental feature - make sure it's spotless! Finally, one of our group was having a birthday. With advance notice, I asked the owner for a bottle of champagne to be waiting in the fridge. She told me to contact the 'hostess' instead. I did. Numerous times. Then the 'hostess' finally responded it was "No problem! I'll just charge you the fee.". I said, "No problem!". Well, guess what wasn't waiting. So disappointing. Couldn't even ensure one little thing was done. Overall communication with the owner was 'iffy' as well. We feel she may be a novice rental owner - or too busy, or in over her head. We also believe she relies too heavily on a prop. mgr and hostess who are on 'island time'. Three stars because the last 3 days were better. After visiting the islands, we highly recommend staying on St. John anyway; much nicer. Good luck.

If you're renting a car and driving yourself to the villa then I recommend you arrive during daylight hours - street signs are a rarity on the island and finding your way after dark could be challenging - but that's why we loved this villa so much. We were looking for peace and solitude and that's what we got at Villa Cabrite. We didn't see or hear any neighbours during the week we were there.
It's situated on a hill about 75 feet above the water. We enjoyed watching the passenger ferries and car barges run between Red Hook and St John. The view is lovely - from inside and outside the villa. We only used the a/C one night as the trade winds kept the villa at a very comfortable temperature when the wall o' doors was open.
The villa is clean and has all the comforts of home - comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen, wi-fi, laundry, potable tap water. For us, the highlights were the pool and deck; we spent most of our time outside. There's also an outdoor kitchen by the pool, with a sink, fridge and bbq.
The location of the villa is excellent, being 10 mins from Red Hook. We took the car barge over to St John and had a great day snorkeling at Waterlemon Cay and Trunk Bay. We also took our chances snorkeling at Magen's Bay on St Thomas, which isn't rated well for snorkeling, but that's actually where we saw turtles and a manta ray. My husband went zip-lining (a newer operation) and thought the 90-min tour was a lot of fun. He had no problem reserving online the day before, though he also went on a day when there were fewer cruise ships in port.
Katharine made the rental process really easy, especially considering we were a last-minute booking. The security deposit was refunded to us immediately, which we really appreciated. She also provided a lot of useful information about nearby restaurants, grocery stores, etc.
We had a great week on St Thomas and it's entirely because of Villa Cabrite - its location, view, comfort and absolute privacy.

In the past we have stayed at the Ritz Carlton property on the same point. We like this East End Location for it is convenient to Red Hook for Dining Shopping and the Ferry to St John. We enjoy snorkeling at Secret Harbour, and Sapphire Beach. We never thought we could afford to stay in a luxury private waterfront pool villa until we discovered this one on www.StThomasCondoRentals.com The home offered us privacy and a luxurious Oceanfront Pool We spent many afternoons enjoy a glass of wine and floating in the pool. Katharine the owner was wonderful to work with and made toe booking process easy and a convenient check in process. She offered us advice on dive spots and special places to dine during our visit. We gained a friend and a new home -away- from- home. I would highly recommend this for couples or two couples desiring to stay together. Thank you
