There are outdoor markets, fish restaurants, artists gallerys and wine tasting chateaus literally everywhere. But the best part is the stunning scenery ... vast vineyards, rocky cathar castles, pristine beaches and the Pyrennes are nearby. This area is not overdeveloped like Provence, and is sure to take your breathe away.
The house is located in a quiet wine-producing village. All serivces (banks, groceries, gas, pharmacy, doctors are 5 minutes away in Durbans-Corbierre. Great beaches and seaside villages are 15 minutes away and Narbonne, the famous "First Daugher of Rome with its incredible market, Cathedral and Canal de Midi is only 20 minutes. Carcassonne, the largest restored walled Medieval Village in all of Europe is 40 minutes as are several Cathar Castles and numbers famous spots where Matisse painted (Coulioure), LaGrasse with its Medieval Abbey, Perpignan, the renoun Catalane village, and many more. The house is 1 hour north of the Spanish border.
