Description
La Bergerie is one of two gites at Chez Carreau. Each gite sleeps 2 persons only. With 5 acres of managed gardens and woodland it is a perfect location for anyone looking for a relaxing holiay in a child-free environment.
La Bergerie is a beautifully restored detached stone cottage. The accommodation comprises open plan well equipped kitchen with dining and sitting area to the ground floor with double bedroom and en-suite shower room above. There is UK TV and hi-fi system for your use.
The property has been renovated to a very high standard and includes use of barbecue, paved patio area and sundeck, gardens, swimming pool and private fishing lake.
The accommodation has full central heating and is therefore suitable for winter breaks.
Chez Carreau is located in the Perigord Limousin Natural Regional Park and stands in its own 3 acre grounds with very pretty gardens, surrounded by chestnut and pine woods in the unspoilt countryside of the Dordogne/Haute Vienne.
There are beautiful lakes with sandy beaches nearby for safe swimming, and the unspoilt countryside offers endless wooded lanes for excellent walking and wildlife. Golf courses, fishing, cycling and horse-riding can be found close by.
Local restaurants and markets are friendly and inexpensive.
Chez Carreau is an ideal base for exploring the region. The historic cities of Limoges, Perigueux and Angouleme are within easy reach.

“Hidden Gem”
Lovely accommodation in beautiful pretty gardens , inaccurately looked after. The pool was super too wonderful hosts and would be happy to visit here again

“Wonderful gite in idyllic setting”
We spent a wonderful 2 weeks at Chez Carreau. Rosemarie and Dave have tastefully restored this gite and it's obvious no expense was spared to provide everything you might need. The garden and pool are beautifully maintained and peaceful, a great place to sit and relax after a day exploring the area. The surrounding national park is magnificent with historic towns, chateaus and forests to explore. There are several lakes all within 20 - 30 mins drive from the gite, with sandy beaches, picnic areas and, at St Estephe, free canoes to loan. Rosemarie and Dave were perfect hosts, friendly and providing suggestions for places to visit. They ensured we had everything we needed for a perfect holiday. Thank you both, Rita & Gordon

“Super relaxing holiday.”
We had a super holiday at Chez Carreau. A lovely property in a tranquil location, with a large pool surrounded by beautiful gardens. Rosemarie and Dave were very friendly and helpful from the start, on hand to help you get the most out of your stay, if required. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. Outside you have the chose of two patios areas to enjoy your meals and maybe a glass or two of wine. we would highly recommend a stay at Chez Carreau.
