The original part of this exclusive villa is a former watchtower, strategically positioned to control the valley below, crossed by the border-line between the Republic of Siena and the State of the Church. Extended at the beginning of the eighteenth century and during the last century to host the sharecroppers families, the house has recently undergone a complete restoration aiming to preserve the charm of the old estate, but without sacrificing the contemporary amenities and comforts.

Additional Location Information

Our property is close to the enchanting medieval hamlet of San Casciano dei Bagni, in the province of Siena, in that unspoiled corner of Tuscany near Umbria and Lazio.
The area was well known by the Etruscans and the Romans for its warm water springs and the beauty of the landscape.
The medieval village is built around the neo-gothic Bologna castle, the XII century church of San Leonardo and Cassiano and its original bell tower. The narrow and winding streets of the village often opens in to beautiful sceneries, showing an enchanted landscape and views on the Cetona mountain and on the Amiata mountain (the sacred mountain of the Etruscans).
As in most Italians villages, the heart is the main square that has a beautiful view on the Rigo Valley. Although San Casciano is a small and quite place, it offers shops and services for almost every need. .

Not far from us, only 10 km across the valley, is the enchanting Medieval town of Città della Pieve that features a beautiful Cathdral with paintings from the "Perugino", the master of Raffaello who was born and raised here.
Location to visit around, day trips, tours:
Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Orvieto, Perugia Siena, Florence...
