1 It would be an honor as we mention our stay at your home often; even though it's been almost two years since our vacation there.
My daughter Olivia constantly asks if when we can go back to the blue House. It was a novelty for us Texans to have good restaurants within strolling distance, as well as grocery stores for last minute necessities making for another enjoyable stroll. The park that was located behind the house had a great children's area. With regard to the house itself, we vacationed with another family (we were 7 all together) and enjoyed 3 baths, a separate bedroom for three little girls with the adults in the other two, washer/dryer, as well as a nice playroom for our daughters. Conveniently, one of the 3 bathrooms had a tub which made bathing our toddler so much easier. The kitchen was well organized as we enjoyed some evenings sampling each others culinary skills. The serenity of your backyard garden was a welcome respite. Your home held all the promise of what a vacation is intended to be.
With our regards,

2 This lovely Victorian on Cortland --with a bedroom deck as a high perch from which to overlook the city, and a handsome kitchen, dining room, patio, and living room in which to relax and to entertain--became so much a part of our visit to San Francisco that about half our photos were taken in and of this house, and the other half of the entire rest of the city. Bernal Heights is a sweet high-altitude village with every charming San Francisco offering just steps from this house--wonderful restaurants, a fabulous independent bookstore, cafes, groceries, stationary shops, and pet stores. A brief hike up the steep streets, past the angled flower pots, cacti beds, and terraced gardens, takes you to the real mountain-top, a windswept promontory, from which you seem to soar above the bay, the bridges, and the city.
I highly recommend this summer rental and can't wait to return to it.

First of all, let me say that my family thoroughly enjoyed staying in the Sobel's home. Prior to our visit in July, 2015, Dan was very helpful answering questions about staying in San Francisco. As a first time visitor to SF, I had many questions, and Dan was wonderfully helpful in providing us with information and tips. Additionally, upon arrival, there is a notebook with information about the house and the area that was an oft referenced resource.
Travelling as a family of 5, with two teens and a pre-teen, this house was fantastic! It accommodated all of our needs and exceeded our expectations. With plenty of space to unwind at the end of a busy day, or just relax before heading out to sight-see, we felt right at home. The wi-fi was strong enough to support all of the devices running simultaneously throughout the home.
The grocery store just down (literally) the street was convenient. We picked up breakfast and snack items and made the short walk back up the hill to the house. We also visited a local bakery for fresh baked goods - again within walking distance.
If you are debating between a rental car and relying on public transit, let me offer this. We debated this, and ended up using a rental car. This worked out quite well. We enjoyed the freedom of having a car, and managed to always find parking at our destination without too much trouble. One note, parking in the drive really isn't an option, as the walls along the driveway prohibit doors from being opened fully. After one night of squeezing out of the Chevy Impala to keep the car door from hitting the wall, I parked the remainder of the nights on the street in front of the drive. This worked well, just remember not to park on the street at the posted time, a couple of hours on either Tuesday or Wednesday morning.
I would recommend this house to my best friends and family, and if I ever return to SF, will absolutely look to stay in this house again.
Thank you Dan for your hospitality and the use of your beautiful home! We loved our stay!
Thanks for your positive review, and I'm so glad you enjoyed staying in our home! Hope to see you again.

We had a fantastic stay at the Sobel's house! Dan was great to work with and the house was exactly what we were hoping for. We so enjoyed the architecture of this charming house. We found the house to be clean, comfortable and had plenty of space for our family. The kitchen is well appointed and we enjoyed visiting the local markets and eating "at home". We were hoping for vacation home where we could get a real taste of San Francisco, be close to the sights and still be able to relax and unplug. This totally fit the bill!! We thought it was a great value and we would highly recommend working with Dan. Thank you Dan for making our vacation all we hoped it to be!

Family of 4 (children 13 & 9) came back for a second time to this great house. Safe neighborhood, convenient for local shops, restaurants and bars. 5 min walk to bus stop for Downtown SF, 15 min walk to the Bart. The house is immaculate and spacious, and we will definitely be staying here again.

We chose this rental for our stay in San Francisco during the us Open. The home was perfect for our family of 4. Location was easy to navigate from, both by public transit and also by rental car.
It was convenient to have groceries and eateries within walking distance.
The kitchen was spacious and had everything needed to prepare meals. Bedrooms were comfortable and space for everyone! Much nicer than a cramped hotel room for a week!!
I would highly recommend this rental for a stay in San Francisco.

Upon arrival my son, nephew and I were delightfully greeted with a sparkling clean and inviting home. We enjoyed the quiet of the back yard and the spacious, airy kitchen. My room pampered me with bright sunny mornings and let me tell you...that bath tub was like a swimming pool. Wqw! Popping out to the street, we found everything needed for a comfortable stay. Great food, grocery stores, shops, parks (stunning views of the city) and right across the street a wonderful meat market with small picks of delicious high-end mouth-watering items. Their home had everything needed for a fabulous stay. I can't wait to return. Thankyou again. We had a wonderful time.

Really nice house, good for families. Has a large master bedroom and two small single rooms. Perfect for a vacation. Only downside is that takes 30-40 minutes to get to town by public transport from here. However, despite this, I would definitely stay here again.
A short public transportation sit on a bus or train let's one see parts of the city; also this is a neighborhood that allows you to stroll down friendly streets, visit shops, bookstores, grab a coffee, and be far enough away from bustle of downtown SF. Also downtown SF is not a destination spot per se, it's a business district.
SF is a 7 mile by 7 mile, peninsula, with an OK public transit system. You can get most places you need to be with a possible transfer of lines; taxis also an option; rental car gives most freedom.

Location was good as it was a very safe area and close to shops etc. Close to tram lines and buses, centre of city approx 20mins on tram. Very clean, plenty of extra sheets and towels. A lot of wardrope space. Very spacious house, comfortably sleeps 6 (there were 5 of us) Parking availble. No great complaints!

We have rented homes in many areas of the country. San Francisico being one of them, and I can safely say that this is one of the best homes we have ever rented. It is clean and comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked with pots, pans, untensils etc. for everything you need to make all your meals. Spacious and roomy too. Living Room is great with a nice size flat screen TV. Master Bedroom, cozy, comfortable bed with a sitting area and fabulous shower and tub. (also has a flat screen) The Bernel Heights neighborhood is quite nice. Some great restaurants you can walk to. Try the Liberty Cafe...fantastic! Grocers and even and organic butcher accross the street. The other terrific aspect of this home is parking. Anyone who knows San Francisco is aware that parking is almost impossible. This home has a driveway where you can park...a big plus. A great place to stay, we highly recommand it. Also...we had some important medicine for my husband delivered in error to Dan's home after we had left. Dan was nice enough to overnight it to us as soon as he returned home from his own vacation. Thanks Dan...we really appreciated that :)
