There are 3 public stops on your way: Santa Cruz, Jaiblaito,Tzununa, once you are in Tzununa village you HAVE to tell the boatmen to stop at CASA ROSADA , our main pink house, right on the water, 3 min.drive from Tzununa , on your right side, it's a private dock and if you miss it you will end up in San Marcos, in that case, you wait 20 min.for another boat opposite direction and try again, it's 3 min.boat ride only for Tzununa or San Marcos, so get ready. The price from Panajachel with luggages should be Q25 per person, from San Marcos Q5 p.p.
The lake's 8 villages are easily accessible by the public boat that runs every 30 minutes in both direction.TripAdvisor property ID 3175329...Read more

The Home is absolutely beautiful, architecturally esthetic and also super comfortable. It is spacious and beautifully decorated. The views are stunning. Everything is provided. You just need to know that it is difficult to leave during the evenings because of availability of boat transportation but there is so much to do during the day and the house is so comfortable at night that one can just make a lovely meal and relax, and go to bed early in time for the morning boats...

You will never find another house like this. First of all, the location is one of the most beautiful spots on earth. The house sits on Lake atitlan, which is surrounded by mountains and volcanoes dramatically rising out from the lake. The house itself is incredibly beautiful, with all the modern amenities you will need, including a full stocked beautiful kitchen. Though you'll never want to leave the house (there's no end to the amount of time one could spend sipping the incredible local coffee and swinging in the hammock), the house is conveniently located near the best and most interesting Mayan villages on the lake. Travel is by boat, which will stop right at your dock. You will love it!!

One of the most stunning natural settings on earth, sun, moon, lake, volcanoes, untouched beauty. Raw, peaceful and un-spoiled by superficial development, this is a incredibly special place to get away to tranquility from wherever you are.
“Wow. Tranquility with high quality at the worlds most beautiful”

I stayed here for 10 days. Wow. I almost didn't want to leave the hammock. Warm days, cool evenings and nice breezes. The house is stunning with access to a public road and a private dock to take water taxis around the lake from. They can be hailed every 20 minutes as they pass. Beautiful gardens and such great views. Easy access to the busier towns of Panajachel and San Pedro. Explore the lake but take time to enjoy the amazing light at this property. Chill, relax, read, paint, swim. Just take a break.

The lake is beautiful in itself, but the panoramic views of this property from every large window and outdoor space are just breathtaking. This house provides everything you need, a spacious kitchen and living area to have meals with friends. The lake is in your front yard, with a dock to provide easy access for lanchas to pick you up and take you to surrounding villages. It was a pleasure to stay in such a comfortable home with relaxing scenery.

We stayed at Dita's place by the lake shore a few years ago and have been back multiple times since. What a gem this home and location are - it's situated right on the water facing multiple puffing volcanoes, has architecture that makes my loft jealous, and is quite large so that you can either all get away from each other or hang out in the dining room / fireplace / kitchen area and cook some great stuff from local markets.
The municipal boat will stop at the dock if you wave it down (comes pretty often, though honestly the pace of life is so different here who can tell :) ) and take you to any of the neighboring towns. There are food/crafts markets, a slightly bigger area to explore in Pana, and some really tucked out of the way places to get even more away from it all. Located centrally from that and a not-too-long ride away from Pana.
Of all the houses on the lake this is one of the best - as you tour around on the boats you can see this. Highly recommended.

I rented this wonderful home with my family for a week's vacation in July 2010, and we had a terrific time. The home is even more beautiful than the photos. It is situated right at the lake's edge, so you look out from its many large windows and see only water and volcanoes.
The house has lovely, stylish furnishings and a very well equipped kitchen where we enjoyed making meals from provisions we collected at the colorful outdoor markets in villages around the lake. There is plenty to see and do in the Lake atilán area but it is also nice to do nothing but lie in one of the home's hammocks and gaze at the spectacular scenery. The bedrooms are well appointed and the bathroom is extraordinary with a big free-standing tub for long soaks with a view of the peaks across the lake.
Dita and Miguel are perfect hosts. They helped us with our travel arrangements and answered all our questions, making our first trip to Guatemala a complete pleasure. This really is the perfect house for your vacation in Guatemala if you are lucky enough to be able to rent it!

We stayed and Dita and Miguel's home twice and both times we were in awe over the simplicity and beauty of the place and surroundings. Steps away from the lake, a vista like no other I have seen in the world, owners who were generous, thoughtful, clean and inspiring. We have traveled to nearly 100 countries around the globe and have stayed in many, many four and five star locations. None comes close to the wonderful memories we have of this lovely place on Lake atitlan.
