The Point at Sandpoint is where dreams become memories. It's your own private, luxury retreat. From the moment you enter the massive double wood doors, you'll feel a part of something magical. Picture two private, wooded acres that open up to a custom home on over 360' of flat, private Pend Oreille waterfront. Two sandy beaches and incredible panoramic lake and mountain views await you! The swimming is clear, shallow and warm in summer. All this and you're just moments from the charming shops and restaurants of Sandpoint.
Explore the lake by kayak, canoe, sail or motor boat. 'Hit it' waterskiing, wakeboarding or inner tube right outside your front door. Fish for small mouth bass or rainbow trout off the dock. Build sand castles on the beach or play volleyball or croquet on the large, grassy lawn. Soak your cares away and enjoy the views from the huge hot tub. Schweitzer Mountain is just 12 miles away for all winter snow sports or for hiking, sightseeing, mountain biking and berry picking in summer.
A large variety of wildlife can be seen everyday. Ospreys, Bald Eagles, river otters, deer, moose, geese, swans, coots, loons and an abundance of fish all live here. Fall and spring bird migrations are fantastic!
The home itself was custom designed to reflect the natural beauty of the area and the special relationship the Kootenai and Pend Oreille Native Americans had with this region. Cedar, pine, hickory, granite, slate and large stones are used throughout. Designed by well known architect, Jon Saylor, The Point has separate 'pavilions'.
The Great Room Pavilion is spacious, yet intimate. Cedar, wood-beam ceilings soar to 24 feet, but the plush, comfortable furnishings keep conversations easy and familiar. Floor to ceiling windows give you the feeling of being surrounded by water. Listen to the lake lap outside as you recline in the sitting area and watch eagles and ospreys hunt for a fresh fish dinner.
When it’s cold outside, radiant heated floors silently warm you from the toes up. A massive river stone fireplace anchors the Great room. Remarkable for its artistic 'dry stack' masonry, it burns real wood with ease thanks to an instant gas starter.
The heart of any home is its kitchen. The Point is no exception. An immense gourmet workspace allows a commanding view of the Great Room, Lake and guests. Multiple chefs can work freely on the expansive granite counter tops while friends and family gather around the 'U' shaped alder bar to watch the culinary action. Stainless appliances, warming drawer, a five burner gas range and other amenities make the cooking fun and easy.
A true hub, from the kitchen you're just steps to the lawn, deck, breezeway, and media room. An informal dining area right next to the kitchen makes serving easy. Or in the summer dine al fresco on the covered deck. The natural gas barbeque right outside the door is perfect for grilling.
The Breezeway Pavilion features an entire glass wall that lifts up and hides above a cedar ceiling -- all at the touch of button. Watch a thunderstorm roll in or walk out to the stone, amphitheatre steps that lead down to a flat, grassy lawn -- perfect for volleyball, croquet or horseshoes (all provided).
The Family Room Pavilion is that perfect escape room for kids and adults. It's stocked with games, kid toys, 55' HD TV, blu-ray movie and stereo system. A built in window seat holds two twin beds and 2 bunk beds are also in this massive room. Great for teenagers or families with lots of kids.
The Sleeping Pavilions form a separate wing of the house. Accessed by a long, generous art corridor, the bedrooms offer a serene escape from the rest of the house. This separation allows early and late risers to enjoy themselves without waking the household. ALL bedrooms have incredible lake views!
The Master Bedroom Pavilion offers a beautiful King size bed, luxury linens, private patio, and an adjoining 'serenity' room desk, twin daybed and trundle. The Master Bath is luxurious with a Jacuzzi tub for 2, granite countertops, slate shower with 2 showerheads and a separate dressing area. A large hot tub is accessible on the stone patio with amazing views of the lake.
Three additional bedrooms have Queen pillowtops and luxury linens. The family room pavilion doubles as a 5th bedroom, with 6 twins -- plus 2 additional sleeping areas in the large, flat couches.
365' of flat waterfront surround The Point -- and a 70' long private dock with boat lift and 2 jet ski lifts provide safe moorage. 2 stand up paddle boards, double kayak and single kayak are all provided at no additional charge. The Point at Sandpoint offers different experiences in each season. We know the area well and offer activity and restaurant recommendations, as well as concierge services.

My friends and I have been to the Point twice before and now have a biannual tradition of fun and friendship in the most perfect place. The March weather is crazy--sunny and warm one minute, snow flurries the next, and we love it all. We especially love the large living area and open kitchen so everyone can be together. The media room is great for games and a movie while it's storming outside. This home is so beautiful and well kept, it does not have the feel of a rental at all. Kellee pays attention to the smallest details, and is always available for questions or concerns. We love this place!
What fun this group is and it brings me great joy to see friends and family enjoy The Point on a regular basis. With the 4 seasons of Sandpoint (sometimes you'll see all of them in March!), this group is close by and able to make the most of our amazing area. Thanks Corinne, Ami and all - you're the best! -Kellee

You will only understand, after you have stayed there...as you actually become a part of the beautiful environment surrounding this spectacular home. The incorporation of all things natural into the home decor, as well as the strategic planning of windows, doors, furniture, etc.; involve you to the point you feel one and the same with the lovely surroundings. Sitting in front of the roaring fire in the fireplace, looking out at the beautiful view from every angle, was what was needed to just take a deep breath and slow down life for a few days. Everything was better than described, and we did not want for a thing...except to stay longer! Our family met here from Utah, Michigan, and Ohio and would readily return again. The owner is a lovely person who is very gracious, helpful, and who, obviously, has a wonderful understanding of how to not only meet, but exceed, her renters' expectations! Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us, as it was a wonderful Christmas present my son gave to me in having us all meet in this beautiful setting for a few days! This home is very beautiful, but comfortable; it is secluded, but close to civilization; large, but cozy; furnished with beautiful quality furnishings, but, very practical; the food we fixed just tasted better having the experience of cooking it in the well equipped kitchen...what can I say, except thank you very much for all I have gained from having had the opportunity to experience your "heaven on earth!" The Cheema's
Wow! Thank you for the fabulous review! It's family celebrations like this that extend the blessings of The Point and the Sandpoint area to many. The thoughtfulness, generosity and kindness of this family are an extension of the values I strive to emulate. Thank you Cheema Family and we look forward to seeing you again in the future. -Kellee

We have stayed at the Point on several occasions and each time it gets harder and harder to leave. The house is so beautifully appointed and designed. Everything is meticulously maintained. The great room and the breezeway are perfect spots for relaxing and watching the ever-changing lake in front of you. The property is very private and quiet. The owners go out of their way to make sure your stay is the best possible. They provide lots of suggestions for things to do in the area. The town of Sandpoint is amazing! So many great restaurants, shops, and really nice people. Truly a great find!
It has been a great pleasure to have this lovely and thoughtful couple stay at The Point 3 times in the past couple of years. It's been fun to guide them to some of our favorite haunts, "The Pie Hut", among others. They take such great care of The Point, and enjoy it so much, that it epitomizes why we make it available. We'll look forward to their next visit.

Kellee was very professional, gave us many suggestions on the area and shines when she talks about the property as she should it is beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice. My only complaint would be we didn't stay long enough, we only had 3 days there and it just wasn't long enough to wind down and take it all in.

Gorgeous lake home on one of the world's most beautiful lakes! Lovely in any season. Spectacular lake views. The area has so many things to do for the outdoor enthusist; skiing, boating, fishing, hiking, just to name a few. But the setting is so pretty that you might just want to spend some time sipping a drink on the deck watching the birds fly over the water. You will love it!

I've been to the Point both in the summer and winter. It's terrific for either season. In the summer, we were right on the lake, with two beaches, and a dock to launch boats from. There's a big lawn to put out chairs and enjoy the sun or cook s'mores around a fire. And there's a big "great room" that the kids played in indoors while the adults got a chance at appetizers and good talk.
In the winter, we were about 15 minutes from Schweitzer. So we got to ski all day and make it home in time to make dinner. There's also a place near by where we took a real sleigh ride pulled by horses.
My family has lots of wonderful memories of this place.
This guest has stayed at The Point multiple times and has really seen "the seasons" Sandpoint offers. Many people search out huge Lake Pend Oreille for summer/lake fun, but Schweitzer mountain offers amazing skiing in winter which these guests have figured out! Bald eagles live on the property from Oct through March and they really enjoyed watching these huge birds hunt, fish and socialize. They are great guests and we look forward to their return soon.
