Additional Location Information

Quiet lane, backs to green fields, looks out over city lights and green fields, in northeast Santa Rosa. 5 min. from downtown restaurants and shops, ten min. north of the lush Sonoma Valley with it's many wineries and vineyards, such as the Gothic Ledson, the French chateau style St. Francis Winery, or the Kunde Wine Cellars. Continue out Hwy 12 to the historical mission town of Sonoma, or the Carneros Valley with Gloria Ferrar Champagne Cellars. Or head 10-15 min. north to the Dry Creek Valley wine road, starting at the quaint historical town of Healdsburg, with it's many Zagat rated restaurants and tasting rooms around the old Town Square. Head out Dry Creek to dozens and dozens of boutique wineries, such as Raymond Burr, or the fabulous gardens at Ferrari-Carrano. Just a tad farther north is the famous Alexander Valley appellation, or closer to home is the Russian River Valley, only 10 min. from the house; visit the Redwood forests of Armstrong Redwoods State Park after a gourmet deli lunch under the Redwoods at Korbel Champagne Cellars (the last of the free tasting rooms!), then head out to our gorgeous wild coast, full of bluffs and secret coves (40 min.). Head south to Bodega Bay for fried oysters at sunset at Lucas Wharf, or wine tasting at Gourmet au Bay. For an exciting day in one of the world's most beautiful cities, San Francisco is just under an hour to the south. Take the ferry or an evening sail across the famous San Francisco Bay, and sail past the Golden Gate Bridge. Or head up to Napa at Calistoga, the famous Victorian Spa and hot springs town (20 min. NE), and head down Napa's famed Silverado Trail, sampling world-famous wines. Think of yourself as being at the center of the spokes of a wheel, with all the beauty and attractions of Wine Country in every direction.
