Villa Caccia

Villa Caccia was originally a hunting lodge built in 1742 by a Tuscan nobleman who used to sojourn there when hunting in the Marche Region. The house has recently been restored with its original stone and materials. A careful eye for detail has been used to ensure all the traditional features have been maintained, while modern details have been added to enhance the comfort.

The spectacular hilltop position means the villa dominates the surrounding fields and offers spectacular views of other farmhouses in the distance. The gardens are beautifully maintained and provide an idyllic place to unwind. The location is also perfect for exploring some ...Read more

Additional Location Information

Travellers who want the best of central Italy are now heading for Le Marche, the third region, alongside Tuscany and Umbria. The region lies on the eastern side of central Italy, between the Adriatic Sea and the high Apennine mountains and much of it remains untouched.
The Adriatic coast, with its beautiful beaches, has been a holiday destination for years, but few venture far from the beaches. Inland, guests will find places where time has stood still and towns and villages offer a taste of genuine Italy, untouched by mass tourism but welcoming to foreigners.
The hilltop position of the property means the villa dominates the surrounding fields and offers views of other farmhouses in the distance. The closest town is 3.5 km away and has a traditional Italian restaurant. Sant'ippolito and Barchi are both 5 km from the house and offer small supermarkets and basic facilities. Fossombrone is the closest large town (12 km) and offers all kinds of services and shops.
The city of Fano is 22 km from the property and is close to the beautiful Adriatic coast. Acqualagna, famous for its truffles, is 23 km away. Urbino, the magnificent duchy of the Montefeltro family, is 25 km from the house. The historic city of Pergola is also worth a visit and is 27 km away. Ancona airport is an hour drive away (75 km). There are several outdoor activities close to the house including horse riding (3 km), and golf courses at San Lorenzo in Campo with a 3 hole practice course, and Sirolo with 16 holes (south of Ancona and near Monte Conero).
The “agriturismo” or local farm and restaurant at the end of the road (2.5 km) offers wonderful local cooking and is willing to furnish a catering service to the villa.
