Truly in the heart of medieval Sarlat, La Pivione is a spacious self-catering one bedroom/one bath apartment. Located in a stunning 16th century stone town-house, this apartment is located on the second floor.

This grand apartment is bright and airy with high ceilings, with a spacious lounge which features a grand fireplace and the bonus of a balcony perfect for a glass of wine or two whilst watching the world go by. The apartment also provides a large bedroom, bathroom and fully equipped kitchen providing everything for a self-catering stay. Parking close by. Free WiFi.

The apartment sleeps two +2 with the option of an additional two people on fold out sofa bed.

Getting around

Sarlat is compact and can be explored on foot. There is a train station in town that terminates in Bordeaux. Europcar has a rental office in town if you decide you need a car for a day trip.

Interaction with guest

Our home-away-from-home in Sarlat is managed by Steve and Lesley Hogg. They will be your local contact and can arrange transportation to/from the local airports and train station, shop for some food items to have in the flat upon your arrival for your first evening and morning, and address any questions you might have about the flat. We, ourselves, are happy to help you plan your visit via email or telephone with advice about local attractions and events.

“Beautiful apartment in the heart of stunning Sarlat”

Location of the apartment is the best. The apartment is gorgeous in a renovated historical building, right on the edge of a square, above one of the fabulous foie gras shops. The kitchen has recently been upgraded to a very high standard, with every mod-con you could wish for - and all the rooms in the apartment are very large, with high quality furnishings. The view from the little balcony, over the square is an added bonus with the sun coming in in the afternoons. We are a couple late 60's and getting suitcases up stairs is always a concern for us. However, no need to worry as the stairs up to the apartment are very wide and sturdy - and only one flight. We had six nights here and really enjoyed beautiful Sarlat, and visiting the surrounding Dordogne castles and the caves of gouffre de padirac. Parking was nearby and no cost.

Nor is it a review your interaction with us or the property management during your stay. This is an unfortunate response to honest feedback from us, through Airbnb, about your stay. The guidelines of the flat request no smoking, vaping or open flames. On the first night of your stay, you attempted to light electronic candles with actual flame, destroying the candles. We are mostly alarmed that there was an open flame. But we understand that things get broken. It is part of price of doing business with a self-catering flat. However, you failed to mention this for the entire week of your stay. And, you also didn’t report that the lock on the back door of the flat became jammed during your stay and could no longer be secured. We would have appreciated a heads up because this left us with practically no time correct the problems for guests following you. Your review here is a negative reaction to these things being noted as part of our feedback. We would encourage all to read your 5-star review on Airbnb.

How do damage deposits work?
