My friends and I stayed at this cottage in 2013 for a long weekend and we decided to return for a full week this time. While the location is great overall, we won't be returning...
The Good: Cottage is well equipped, we could find everything we needed and it was clean. The hot tub was also really nice and we spent a lot of time in it when the Lake water was too cold, which was frequently. It's not too far of a drive into Sauble to get a few things you may have forgotten and the people that rent/own around the property are nice.
The Bad: When we got there, the lights in the kitchen above the island were out. It was quite dark in the Kitchen at night without them and it's the main cooking area. We tried to address it ourselves with no luck and had a difficult time getting in touch with someone. We called the 'emergency' numbers to report the issue, no answer? All of the numbers went to voice mail and the office I booked through was closed on the weekend (week long stays must arrive on the weekend). I was glad it wasn't a real emergency! I was beginning to worry that we would be blamed/charged for the broken light as well! Once we finally got in contact with someone, she was really helpful. Although she couldn't fix the overhead light herself, she left and came back later with one of her lamps from home that we just plugged in as needed. We offered her a drink for her trouble and got to learn a little about her. It wasn't so bad in the end and we managed the week with the lamp.
The Ugly: This cottage is for sale, has been for at least a year (it was on sale when we visited June 2013) and some of the furniture needs a major upgrade which it will likely not see until it's sold. There are 3 beds: 2 Doubles and 1 Queen. There is also a pull out on a very old couch I was not daring to look at. All of the beds were old, musty, uncomfortable and noisy. None of us (there were 2 couples, 4 in total) could sleep the whole week. We woke up stiff everyday. I thought about driving to the nearest Walmart for some memory foam mattress toppers but it would not have helped with how noisy/creaky the beds were in the end. The beds were the same last year, and while it was okay to deal with for a couple of nights we were exhausted by the end of a week.
If you are planning on coming to this cottage, I would recommend some air mattresses and finding places to sleep on the floor, but then the price isn't really worth it ($2500/week after fees/taxes/insurance in July).

A lovely, clean cottage with a Gorgeous view. It's very comfy and had a lot of everyday items that we needed. The pictures provided are accurate. The hot tub on a cooler night was a real treat. Friendly neighbours, quiet beach. Would return!

It is very easy to rent using RentCottage.com. The service is excellent. The cottage was clean and easy to maintain. The huge kitchen windows gave an awesome view of the beach and lake. We even cleaned them before we left! It was so nice to be able to walk out the back door and down to the beach. We loved the hot tub! It was only a short drive into Sauble Beach for groceries and restaurants. The only problem we had was finding the landfill site as it is not very well sign posted. Overall, it was a great experience and we would go back again.

The beach is very nice and shallow...perfect for young kids. The grass area is nice.
Negatives: dirty hot tub, without proper chemical provided. Dated cottage, although reasoably clean, needs to be updated. Sliding glass door from family room does not work and does not seal at the bottom, allowing ants in.

We had a fantastic week here! The cottage was perfect for our needs, the beach was beautiful and the water warm and inviting. A perfect place for a family with children because of the shallow, sandy beach. Loved it and will return!

It is my pleasure to share my thoughts with others who may be looking for a wonderful vacation spot to spend quality time with their family. Sandy cove is a place we will return to for years to come...this being our first time was incredible, our 4 year old perfected the art of swimming within 3 days of arriving...the water is knee deep as far out as you wish to go. Very private property with the luxury of being able to watch activity on all sides. The cottage was extremely well maintained, the property also well maintained. As a family we found many exciting day trips within minutes drive. Fishing holes abound and of course minutes drive to Sauble Beach which has everything you could possibly need. RentCottage.com was also a pleasure to deal with, extremley accommodating, secure and professional. I would reccommend RentCottage to anyone, they have the right destination for even the most discerning client. Our son asks us all the time "when can we go back to the beach house" he will no doubt take his own children to this secret paradise. Thank you Sandy Cove for lifelong memories.

Thecottage was well equipped and we enjoyed relaxing and doing nothing..There is also a nice beach at Oliphant where we walked with our dog..We were there before the schools broke up so it was a quiet part of the summer. We were a bit disappointed with the eating places in the area but were too lazy to drive very far to look around. We would probably rent again but during the off season it is an easy drive from where we live

The cottage was clean & very well stocked; i.e. paper products, cleaning products etc. Usually you have to run out & get that stuff. It had everything you needed for a fun, comfortable stay - fabulous beach; beautiful deck overlooking water; BBQ; Hot Tub; large grassy area for ball games etc. The Bruce is a beautiful location with access to great restaurants, shopping, amusements, boating, fishing etc. We loved our stay & will definitely return.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was very accomodating with plenty of room. We spent allot of time at the beach with our grandchildren. A great place for smaller children and beach fun.
My wife and I enjoyed the hot tub also.
The only disappointing point was that we could not have a little fire at night to share with our kids and toast a few marshmellows.

The cottage is generally "tired".
The beds were uncomfortable, the furniture old (garage sale quality), the appliances old.
The beach was limited to about 10ft of useable shoreline, the rest was rocks.
Generally very over priced.
I will not be returning and indeed may not rent a cottage agian
The owner has taken steps to address these concerns. The furniture in the living room has been upgraded. We disagree with the concerns over the beach the pictures of the shoreline depict the cottage accurately.
