Additional Location Information

Oglethorpe Lodge is located right across from the Savannah Riverfront. The Riverfront offers magnificent views of the river and any boats traversing the river. The Riverfront is also a popular area for shopping, unique restaurants and bars, and art galleries. Oglethorpe lodge is also located just steps away from Solomon's Lodge, which is the oldest Masonic lodge in Georgia and was founded by James Oglethorpe himself in 1734. We're also located around the corner of one of Savannah's numerous city parks, Reynolds Park.

We offer 1 parking space behind the Lodge with your reservation, but if you needed additional parking the Bryan Street Parking Garage is available just at the end of the street from Oglethorpe Lodge. This link provides information on times and fees: http://savannahga.gov/Facilities/Facility/Details/Bryan-Street-Parking-Garage-148

The historic district of Savannah is very beautiful and full of things to do, which is one of the reasons we love the Oglethorpe Lodge. You can easily walk down to the River to enjoy the sights or walk down the street to several fantastic restaurants and bars. The area itself is a primarily tourist area and is home to several high class hotels and restaurants.

A few of our favorite restaurants are below, but we are also quite near Vic's on the River, which is a popular dinner spot and we're within a five minutes walk of Paula Deen's restaurant the Lady and Sons. We offer one parking space per suite included in the rate, but if you needed more parking the Bryan Street Parking garage is on the same block and has very reasonable rates.

We love Savannah and all she has to offer and we hope you will too.

In general we would say that our top ten reasons of why we love Savannah are below:

10) The low country waterways and the smell of the marsh
9) The proximity to the ocean and all the tributaries
8) Fishing and time on the water
7) The Downtown and all the parks
6) The history of Savannah
5) The hauntings and the stories/myths that lie behind the fables
4) Traveler drinks – Solo cups and alcoholic beverages can be taken for a stroll anywhere in the downtown vicinity
3) SCAD – the fact that the whole downtown also is vibrant with students
2) The Pubs and Bars
1) The many fabulous restaurants

Just a few of our favorite restaurants are:
Six Pence English Pub – for many reasons this is my favorite Pub and Restaurant for lunch or an evening cocktail. I am truly a regular when I am in downtown Savannah for lunch.

Roof Top of the Bohemian Hotel – this is a great overlook of the city and the river. Cool vibe and a really nice appetizer menu. No full menu at the roof top bar. Try the truffle fries. This is a happening bar for the evening scene.

Angel’s Barbecue – this place is awesome and is almost impossible to find. It is in a side alley next to the Presbyterian Church off of Bull Street. They only serve lunch and once they run out, which is daily, they close. They are open Wednesday through Saturday 11:00am until 6:00pm or whenever they run out of barbecue. The barbecue is fabulous.
